And what is the problem?
/tmp is a link to /var/volatile/tmp and so all data in /tmp lies in a tmpfs. At least it is like this in current images since ages. Didn’t check Zeus/dunfell, but I don’t know a reason why to change it.

I saw that the Thud branch was now in develop. Will this mean that 7.3 is with Thud?

Then you will have branch rc based on it seems Zeus which will been 8.0 rc?

For develop branch can someone please cherrypick the follow commit: https://github.com/O...263d2f44a995816

No.

There will not be any OE changes within a major release. RC has been branched off before the merge of Thud, and therefore 7.3 will remain based on Pyro.

We're going to test with Thud now, which we expect will go smoothly. After that we'll merge Zeus as well, and will base OpenPLi 8 on a develop with Zeus.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

No.

There will not be any OE changes within a major release. RC has been branched off before the merge of Thud, and therefore 7.3 will remain based on Pyro.

We're going to test with Thud now, which we expect will go smoothly. After that we'll merge Zeus as well, and will base OpenPLi 8 on a develop with Zeus.

ok  tnx for explain , then I will keep using zeus branch :)

Please note that the zeus branch will be getting rebased just as often as it did, so any local changes will be lost.

And I was already a bit afraid we'll skip 7.3... I missed it was rebased...

I see, so the bleeding-edge for zeus  is https://github.com/w...tree/zeus-eudev as of now.

I can live with it :) Thanks WTE

About OpenPLi 8.0 I dare to insist that the timing would suggest to base it on dunfell.

Please read https://www.yoctopro....html#migration #4.17 about changes in dunfell.

Outstanding is the removal of python2 from oe-core, otherwise the big fishes are in 3.0 (#4.16)

While it is clear that the main developers here don't care about Kodi, as said before I'm only interested in kodi_18 at the moment.

This recipe could work on any 7.x release: are there plans to backport kodi_18 from zeus to 7.3?

If not I'll skip totally zeus and move on to dunfell for testing it further.

Regards

A.A.

Removal of python2 is a big problem for us. e2 relies on python2. And this can't be changed easily. And if we would migrate to python 3, several(most) plugins won't work any longer.

Just add meta-python2 and you can use dunfell without a big issue ;)

However start with zeus is fine by me. Kodi18 and Chromium/ QT5 works perfect on it

@betacentauri

heh, it's not so bad,  the changelog says

"Build is now Python 2-free; python 2 moved out to meta-python2"

http://layers.openem...r/meta-python2/

Plus there are other non-core python recipes in meta-openembedded.

Ah, where possible I'd reduce the number of python recipes in meta-openpli...

My 2 cents

Kodi18 works on my receiver on dunfell branch.Webkit-classic also works.qtwebbrowser builds and works, but it needs its own application to run.qtwebkit builds and not work. Most likely this is only on my receiver.

Here on zgemma h9combo Kodi 18.7 running well on sumo and zeus branch.
Qt 5.12.8 on zeus branch builds but qthbbtv is not running with it, so for now I keep sumo with QT5.8.

It is not rebased, it is continuously being rebased. Every day it can be a different version.

It has nothing to do with the 7.x releases anyway.

I launch YouTube with this script

#!/bin/sh
init 4
export QTWEBENGINE_DISABLE_SANDBOX=1
export QT_QPA_FONTDIR=/usr/share/fonts
export QT_QPA_PLATFORM=linuxfb
export QT_QPA_EGLFS_INTEGRATION=eglfs_emu
export $(dbus-launch)
/usr/bin/qtwebflix -p https://www.youtube.com/?gl=RU

Maybe this is only on my receiver, but there is no hardware support,it seems to me that way.

Check first: chrome://gpu

I do not see very high cpuload on Youtube and it works just perfect on my hisilicon box.

You need probably eglfs support to have more hardware support. So probably this is difficult to get.
