After years of happy usage of the Amiko Alien 2 now its time has come to be replaced.

Searching the forum and wiki I still would like your recommendations

current setup:

motorized system (USALS),

single sat cable

Amiko Alien with triple tuner:

- double (DVB-S2) tuner with (external) loop through (so able to record one channel and watch a channel from the same H/V/high/low band)

- single DVBT tuner (no longer receives channels as DVBT has been replaced by DVB-T2) => replaced by cheap DVB-T2 fta box

- IPTV becoming problematic => replaced by RaspberryPi OSMC Kodi

Whishlist:

- DVB-S2X + DVB-T2 FTA

- to be able to record one sat /dvbt channel and watch a channel from the same H/V/high/low or dvbt band

- multistream (EutelSat 5 West / French channels)

- iptv (kodi?)

- openpli

- single channel list with sat, dvbt and iptv combined (HansSettings)

- FTA reception suffices

(I could live without dvbt, but woman wants a single remote control and single channel list)

I have been looking at zgemma h7s and learned that its 2 DVB-S2 tuners are really independent and hooking up to one sat cable is not straight-forward (dc and diseqc decoupling) and such configuration probably not supported by OpenPli ( so not able to watch-and-record-other from the same H/V/high/low band)

I searched the wiki and could not find a double tuner sat receiver with in or external loop through, so please help me find one ;)

I think a single FBC tuner would be sufficient to watch-and-record-other from the same H/V/high/low band, and that comes with a price tag

Looking forward to your suggestions

External loop-through is hardly offered these days. Mostly because of twin-tuners becoming mainstream. Simply replace your LNB with a dual or quad LNB and use two separate coax cables. One for eath input. Buy a box that offers 2 twin tuners. One for DVB-S2X and one for DVB-T2...

Hi Mimisiku,

Thanks for your reply. I'll consider that option, despite having to crawl under the floor for this second cable.

Before going that path I wonder how that would work with a motorized Diseqc setup: if tuner1 controls the motor how would tuner 2 know to which satellite tuner 1 has rotated the dish to?

Is that configuration supported by OpenPli?
