find / -name "epg.dat"to see where it is stored.
It might be in the root, or in /home/root.

If there is no epg.dat file on your box, but it still crashes when you start it up, it must be in the EPG data of the channel the box you start up with.
Any idea which channel this is?

Just enter this command in telnet and post the output on the forum..
find / -name "epg.dat"

I have absolutely no clue what you are doing and what your problem is. And therefore also not how to solve it.

i told you which program putty or filezilla to commandline the line find / -name "epg.dat"
Well I can't find any references to filezilla or putty in this thread.
