Tested the Ultimo 4K's internal wifi of several images installed on multiboot with no issue so far.

OpenMultiboot is not a true multiboot installing OpenPli and OpenAtv on my VU+ I have OpenAtv that replace component on the OpenWebif so I had problems and strange behaviour with it.
So don't give any conclusions when trying different images using OpenMultiboot since they can interfere between each others.
Rather flash image without an OpenMultiboot.

Yes it is sad that Vu+ doesn't offer a true multiboot.

Well, not everyone wants/likes MultiBoot.. I bought an el Cheapo Mutant HD60 just for that purpose. Fooling with multiple images can be fun and gives the possibility to compare.
My VU+Ultimo4K is my main box and my wife doesn't take 'fooling around' with the TV very lightly :)
I want a stable image in my box so it can be used 24/7 without problems that can switch from satellite to cable and terrestrial if necessary..

Why isn't a multiboot true?

How can there be an interference between the image on the flash and the images on a USB stick for multiboot? Or an interference between the images on the USB stick? I never noticed anything ... maybe a small "bug" in OpenPli in the information about the name of the image that I cannot know its reason and the non-possibility, being running OpenPli by the USB stick, if we want to change to another one only appears it's in the flash ...

OpenMultiboot is a plugin present in most images ...

Here at home it's the same, my wife wants to see "dolls" as she is or is no longer irrelevant to her ... I only have Vu + and they are either in OBH or OPLI, sometimes at OATV

By chance it adapts well to the change of image or skin because, for basic use, the similarities between several images are almost constant ...

The only true mutliboot is, like with a PC, boot a different OS from a different disk partition. This requires a partitioned flash or additional storage, and bootloader support.

All other solutions boot the OS in flash, and then try to switch to an Enigma in a different directory, mixing two different image (version)s. Which is always a recipe for disaster.

Even more so with the VU+ 4K boxes, which have anti-clone measures in drivers and special signed files, that must be there, must have the correct version, and must be in the correct place,

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

So the USB stick where the other images are located is not additional storage?

Disasters are the most natural thing ... even sleeping in bed! If we have our image of choice on the flash, at the first disaster, we removed the USB stick from the multiboot ... then, something that must be had, is a double backup of the flash image. I have two on the box disk (made by different tools) and two on the PC.

So far there has never been a problem using OMB around here ...

It is not a boot partition, no. To boot from another partition, you need bootloader support, and the VU+ boxes don't support multiboot.

You mean there should be a possibility to create a flash partition? Can't a USB stick be seen as a partition?

The point is that the bootloader can't boot a different parttion. It will ALWAYS boot the OS in flash.

It is like booting your PC in Windows, and then in the startup sequence of Windows, trying to load Linux instead...

Is there an E2 box with true multiple boot?

Is there an E2 box with true multiple boot?

Quite a few: Mutant HD51 and HD60, Vimastec VS1500, Axas E4 HD, Zgemma H7, H9 Combo (not H9 !) and H10, Octagon SF8008 and SF8008 Mini, Gigablue Trio 4K, Edision OS Mio 4K, OS Mio 4K Plus and OS Mini, Maxytec Multibox and Multibox Mini.

If you check the downloads for a specific box, you'll see zip files with either "multiboot" or "emmc" in the name, which are images that can be flashed into a multiboot partition.
