I’m using streamlinkserver on openspli 7.2 for livestream. Until now I did not find a plugin that can be used in Pli, although I think it is a nice add-on. Is there a (legal) reason not to create one ?

If you can point us to the source, we can have a look. I personally have never heard of it, but then again I don't watch (illegal) IPTV streams.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

This is not about illegal streams but watching live (youtube and other) streams on you TV with openpli.

I've attached the files that I install (except for the service app which is already installed)

After installing the Ipk's, I also had to replace youtube.py.

Editting my list and added this legal example to it

Webcam Saint-Malo

#DESCRIPTION Live Webcam Saint-Malo

Tested -> OK

I just found this functionality on an European Sat Forum and don't have all the technical background information needed, but I would not be surprised if the starting point starts at https://streamlink.github.io.

Looks like it, given the localhost link in the URL.

We need the source of the plugin to be able to build it. So unless there is an official location where it is published (ideally as a git repository), we can't build it.

Now someone that makes a bitbake recipe for it, and handles the Enigma integration... ;)

TS said it's not illegal, but I think there is a reason why Youtube etc. don't let you watch their material directly from your STB. Something with advertising fees I guess. As far as it already legal, you can count on countermeasures from the content providers.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

So far no single ad in these streams. But... Anyway, I think you can always find reasons not to do something. I don't see the legal issue for now or in the nearby future.

The reason why Youtube don't let you watch their material directly is that in a live stream they can't include advertising.

I understand this point but as you can see the public youtube URL is being used. I don't know the Youtube conditions, but I can't remember or that is is mandatory that these url's only can be viewed on advertisement enabled platform. That youtube would like to see it differently, I do understand, but this doesn't make this way illegal.

That maybe don't like youtube and content creators who get money from ads, but I'm not saying that it is illegal.

Forget the example of YouTube..... live streams of https://www.visitdeb...m/live-webcams/ or any other source which needs this solution for viewing on tv. Does that help to start ? Or is it simply a no (which is a good answer in my opinion) ?
