hi

I have a 8812au wireless network adapter and did not find the drivers from the image server openpli 7.2

The forums and blogs were searched and I did not find a definition that could accept the vu+ zero4k device

Is an ipk file available?

For the intended piece, see the attachments

The driver is called 88xxau.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Never a good idea to just download something and install it.

On the VU+ Zero 4K, the package is called "kernel-module-8812au". You need to install it via the commandline or via software management / package management, as it is not a plugin.

I used the command opkg install kernel-module-8812au-4.10.12_4.3.14-r0.0_h5.ipk

see attachments

Is the installation successful?
And if it is not successful
What is the way to do that?

What part of "Never a good idea to just download something and install it." was not clear?

Why would you want to install a driver for a Zgemma H5 on a VU+ box?

I already wrote a few times that the driver is in the feed, there is no need to download files yourself.

I already wrote a few times that the driver is in the feed, there is no need to download files yourself.

However, none of that driver worked either from the image server or from outside it
It seems that the team is not interested
And I have to leave the opene pli image

Thanks my friend for the help

The gigablue adapter works fine, so don't blame us for you not doing something right.

For starters, if you are running OpenPLi 7.2, your box isn't up to date, so chances are you have a kernel conflict as you are installing a 7.3 driver on a 7.2 image.

OpenPLi 7.3 installed
And updated from inside the image
But which one is suitable for gigablue adapter?
I mean chipset from OpenPLi 7.3 plugins

For other information, I accepted the gigablue adapter directly without my interference

Like I wrote, if yours has an 8812au, you need need the kernel-module-8812au driver.

Problem with all these cheap junk is that they are produced using the chip of the week, so chances are it has a different chipset, or a not-supported USB ID (as the VU+ boxes run an old linux kernel).

What is the output of

lsusb

with the device plugged in?

0bda is the official Realtek USB vendor ID, the 0811 device is an RTL8821. And it is supported by the current 8812AU driver.

Can you show me the output of

lsmod

and

opkg list-installed | grep 8812

to check the correct driver installation status?
