Hello,

I am a very new user of OpenPli. It's a fantastic software ! But I have a problem with it :

when my Trio 4K is configured in 1080p, the displayed picture is very sharp.

When my trio 4K is configured in 4K, the 1080p channels are a bit blurry.

At first I thought the problem came from the upscale capability of the Trio 4K. But if I reboot my Trio 4K on the default "Teamblue" image, then the displayed picture is perfectly sharp.

And I think the reason for that is because in the Teamblue image parameters menu, there is an option to adjust the picture sharpness. But in the OpenPli 7.3 image, there is no sharpness adjustment menu (I activated the "Expert" menus).

Am I missing something ? Is there a sharpness adjust menu somewhere in the OpenPli 7.3 image ?

Scaler sharpness is in Setup - System - Audio/Video - A/V Settings.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I was never able to confirm that the output of the Trio 4K is much worse then the output of any other (almost) equal hardware as reported by one of our international members. He might respond here too if he reads this topic. The sf8008 and the Uclan Ustym4K pro are equal to each other.

Install "videoenhancement" plugin (Plugins -> green button - in systemplugins part) and then it will be in Setup - System - Audio/Video - Video enhancement settings  - set Sharpness as you need.

You can try set picture parameters too:

Flesh: 2 (+2)

Bright: 108 (-20)

Contrast: 148 (+20)

HUE: 108 (-20)

I have a GB Trio 4k and I find the image quite nice but it is connected to a 1080p TV not a 4K one so I cannot judge the upscaling capabilities of this box to 4K.

Thanks a million ims, this is exactly what I was looking for. Now I need to test and see if I cannot correct my sharpness problem  when displaying 1080p channels when configured in 4K (but I'm confident, I think it will be OK).
