hi everyone, I am having a strange issue with my vuplus solo2  and the RC and I can’t figure out what could cause it, so I hope someone can help me out on this one.

The issue is that when I press a button on my remote control multiple times it does not always accept the instruction.

What happens is that the first pressing of the button is accepted and then it no longer responds. The only way to continue is to press another button before pressing the initial button again.

 

Let me give you an example: you are scrolling down a menu, or you are exiting a menu. You have to continuously press other buttons in between to be able to continue.

Another example: fast forwarding recordings 2x, 4x, 8x 16x etc. Well, I have to be very lucky to get to high speed fast forwarding. Usually 4x is the max I can reach.

The other problem is it is not a continuous issue, in 20-30% of the cases it does work properly.

At first I thought it was the RC itself which had an error. But after purchasing a replacement RC I found no difference. Both RC’s have exactly the same issue and the issue is regardless of the image version (currently 7.3)

 

Any suggestions are very welcome! :-)

I have the similar issue on my VU+ Duo4K, not always, sometimes only, and my opinion is that its not problem with Remote Control but something in OpenPli 7.3 version which I mentioned also in one of my threads complaing my box is reacting with delay...

Have you tried other images, to see if this problem occur?

I also had this problem,
It resolved itself when I fitted new batteries.
Apologies in bucketfuls if this is to simple an idea.

It is because every keys have 2 possible actions depending on how you press it:  short press or long press

So there is no auto-repeat function if you keep pressing the button it is then a long press.

 

You can clearly view it when going into the Hotkey menu, you will see each key defined twice (with or without long).

 

For the fast forwarding this is another problem, it is just that this feature is not alway working really fine depending on the brand and model you are using. So fast-fwd is quite limited.  Better to use a long fast fwd key press and there you set to how many minutes you want to skip in the movie this is far more efficient than the fast fwd.
