And, I've read elsewhere that there is a bug with 2.0.10 if your peers use the line
"MINIMUM CLIENT VERSION", resulting in 2.0.10 being blocked.

Just tried this between two boxes, both running 2.0.10. The option works fine, so I guess it's a bug in the older versions, not in 2.0.10.

So we can keep 2.0.10 in our downloads.

You're right pieterg, the bug isn't in 2.0.10, it's worse...the bug is in all earlier versions.
But it is likely that 2.0.10 will be fixed, or replaced by 2.1.0

The older versions are blocking 2.0.10 from connecting to them.
Consider this example:

CCcam server v2.0.8, with in config the line "MINIMUM CLIENT VERSION=2.0.7"
A peer, running 2.0.10, trying to connect to the above server, will not be allowed to connect due to a bug in the server's CCcam v2.0.8. To the server 2.0.10 is lower than 2.0.7.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to verify this personally.

solution: update both your client box and your server box, not just the client box.

but why use the version limit option on a LAN as it is only your boxes there?
