Is there any news on recording HDMI input and no sound?
Just to confirm situation is still the same. Video plays back fine, but no audio.

I assume it is a legal decision not to allow any HDMI signal in, it would be a great way to copy protected content do disk .
HDMI-in is internally connected to the transcoder. There is a patch that allows 1080p which is installed, but E2 has never been properly adapted to it.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

HDMI IN is a farce… Used as a marketing trick to sell those boxes. Drivers limit both resolution and sound. On VU+ 720p and PCM Stereo only…
On which Vu receivers are you able to record and playback audio correctly from the HDMI input? Are you changing any defaults on the source signal?

I only own a VU+Ultimo4K using AppleTV on the HDMI IN port. Given the restrictions, this works. I can’t change anything on the signal - even if I wanted to. AppleTV doesn’t offer any option..
My DM920 can even record 1080p but this is not OpenPli obviously

720p works, and has always worked afaik. I've tested that about about 6 months ago with a SKY box + HDCP killer connected to it.
But I couldn't get 1080p to work (it displayed at that time but you can't record it), and my knowledge of C and Enigma internals is very limited, so I gave up on it.

So to avoid ambiguity and confusion, are you are saying that HDMI in recording works OK for video and sound using Ultimo 4K?

As I said, 720p should work. I had that working on my Duo 4K last year, from the output of a SKY box.

So what am I doing wrong? I still cant get audio recorded and never have been able to. The sources I have tried are Enigma2 receivers. I have not changed anything in the audio output settings.

I don't know, I haven't tried it since some time last year, and now my Duo 4K is in the attic as a recording box, and I can't test with it anymore.
