Has no sense talking about limit HDMI-in, when recording not works at all... and last driver's change (about audio) made problem with displaying video.

Oke so it doesn't record (audio and video) on a DUO 4K HDMI in? Will this be fixed in the next releases (software bug) or is it more permanent and not stable.

Is there a way to track if this is fixed?
It's broken in the last version. In which version of the driver is it sill working and stable (or isn't there any)?

Thanks! I'm thinking of buying a DUO4K but I'm doubting. Do you know:
1) What is the last version (official and OpenPli) which works with HDMI IN recording?
2) Is it possible to swap a driver which works (so a new image will work) or are there to many dependencies
3) Is there a tutorial how to make an own build.
4) Does it only hold for the DUO4K? I see HDMI IN fixes for 4K e.g. the Ultimo but only the DUO4K is not mentioned. Does the Ultimo 4K working with recording HDMI IN?
I hope you can help.

1) Every version works with HDMI IN. But there is no other version that 7.0-release for the Duo 4K.
2) Swap a driver by what?

4) No idea, I don't own an Ultimo 4K
Note that the HDMI IN doesn't do full HD or 4K, it is limited to 720p.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I understood from IMS (see post #7) that it's now broken, say from version > x.x on. So my idea was to take the latest image which is > x.x. With which it's not possible to record via HDMI IN (as I understood from IMS). Then take out the HDMI IN driver from a version < x.x (which is working) and put it in the latest > x.x version (which is not working).
But apparently it's not necessary because they all can record from HDMI IN as you say.

There is no special or separate driver for HDMI IN. The driver set is one binary blob, it's all or nothing.
There is a 7.1-release in the making which will have the latest driver.

I'm trying to record through HDMI-IN and here's what I got:
- VTi image: the recorded video is 720p resolution with no sound
- Original image: the recorded video is 720p resolution with no sound
- OpenATV: the recorded video is corrupted.
- OpenBH: the recorded video is corrupted.
- Blackhole: the recorded video is corrupted.
I wonder what workarounds Vu are doing

We think there are multiple issues.
According to the media info the created TS is 2160p30, no matter what the input was (which is wrong), and also the frame content of the TS is wrong, so we assume a driver bug.
I assume they just hardcoded around it in the HDMI-in recording code, which you can do if you code for one box only.

The issue has been reported.
* Wavefrontier T90 with 28E/23E/19E/13E via SCR switches 2 x 2 x 6 user bands

They are certainly related, but manually setting the input (which can be variable) is imho a bad idea.

The recording function on non-vu receivers worked before those commits.
FYI:
I cant find one of the other threads where hdcp was mentioned, but I had tested using an Enigma2 receiver as the source.
I don't think this was ever discussed with VU+
