What is the good configuration to read avi files on Duo4k?

I try all the readers with Serviceapp and there is just sound and no picture.

AVI is just a container and can hold different 'codecs'.... Codecs can't be added in a VU+ box. They are embedded in the SoC. So you have to convert your files into codec the VU+ does support....

More modern boxes (not only new VU boxes)  leave support for older video codecs - and saves money for licences.

You must convert it to newer codecs.

I don't think it has anything to do with licenses.
the BCM chipset simply did not implement this. Is the same as with the little brother solo4k, which is also in significantly better support in the Edision osmio4k.

Can't you 'patch' this function?
One can only guess.
In general, however, it is not a problem at all to briefly switch on the PC and render the media files from avi in mkv / mp4 without loss.
It works quickly and then it works.

Any discussion about this is pointless without knowing which codecs are used.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
