Hello
Is there a a mehod to auto update channel if its frequency changes
without having to relaunch the search each time

No.

 

You can use an existing settingslist (in which case someone else does the scanning for you), or use a plugin like AutoBouquetsMaker (which still isn't automatic).

 

The simple reason is that if a channel moves frequency, there is no way of knowing or detecting that it is the same channel.


Currently in use: VU+Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), Amiko Viper T2C (T2+fallback), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (T2+fallback)

For this reason most provider boxes do this automatically (Düring the nicht OR standby). OpenPli offers Fastscan for M7 providers and a background scan.. It's thé next best alternative.

Hi,

By default there is background scanning enabled so if channels change on the TP you are currently watching the channels will be updated. But if your provider use a new TP you need to perform a scan.

For fast and cablescan it does.... but for abm only when the provider gives a list of transponders (correctly)... but for the latest boxes at least the fec is auto...

If I am using OpenPli . I usually dont foget to install Ts-sat editor to periodically check updated satellite xml file . But If using  Openvix , OpenAtv images there is always plugin sat xml update in setting menu

In OpenPLi, the satellites.xml is under version control, so there is no need for plugins, you get an up to date version every time you do a software update.

 

NB: we generate a new one once a week at the moment.

36 degrees has in my opinion the wrong values.All frequencies are together like chess pieces in the same box :) The fact is that these frequencies have two completely different bands and also two different converters!!!
1.polarization="0" (HV)
2.polarization="1" (HV)
 
1.polarization="2" (LR)
2.polarization="3" (LR) is a circular polarization converter!!! These frequencies should be separate.

There are plugins that update the channel list (userbouquet files) automatically. You set the source and then download and check the timeliness of the channel list at regular intervals. If a new channel list is found, it is immediately downloaded to Enigma2 (folder "/etc/enigma2") and refreshed (reloaded) while Enigma2 is running. This can also be done, for example, via a terminal / shell, by calling functions in OpenWebif, for example:

If there is a newer one, the old file in the "/etc/enigma2" folder will be overwritten and then the channel list in Enigma2 will be reloaded (on the fly).

 

One option is to use ready-made userbouquet files (channel lists), but there is not always 100% reliability. For example, channel lists from Vhannibal, the so-called "vhannibal enigma2 settings" are perfect, but they don't exist for all satellite positions or for all satellite providers.

Providers could even release / support / update the userbouquet file themselves and also develop a plugin for Enigma2. Unfortunately, many providers do not support Linux / Enigma2 satellite receivers, due to the spread of pirated card sharing through SoftCAMs. Therefore, many providers do not even solve this.

 

Also, as someone mentioned above, there is a possibility to quickly download channels from the satellite transponder, via the FastScan auto-scan function. This is a download of the complete channel list, directly from the satellite transponder, in the form of digital data. Unfortunately, this FastScan feature is not supported by every satellite provider. Only some satellite providers allow you to "download" and use the FastScan "channel-table". There is a FastScan plugin for this purpose (or it is already part of the basic Enigma2 firmware).
