Latest stable version is youtube-dl-2020.09.20.tar.gz

So we should move from git to tar.gz: https://distfiles.ma...org/youtube-dl/

For the moment we've made a local workaround, to see how the situation develops. If Google is really on the hunt, these tarballs may be removed as well...

Afaik it is only used by MediaPortal? If it is not available, they'll have to come up with an alternative, which would also solve the issue.

Still we use tar.gz of stable releases as youtube-dl ruined our builds more than enough, their git isn't stable so better to use archives of stable releases.

We've switched back to Github. There is a lot unstable out there, but github is the most stable of all.

Depending on their git is wrong in my opinion, I mean their github but their tar.gz releases: https://github.com/O...n-youtube-dl.bb

You mean as compared to master? Yes, that is possible, HEAD is always in flux.

For us not a problem, it only means a develop build might fail, all our release build are pinned on SRCREV.
