Is it possible to use a dreambox remote control (original dm8000pvr) with a Vu+Duo2 box (OpenPli)?

In that case how to?

Not on VU+, you can only use VU+ remotes or universal remote.

I just recently changed from Xtrend ET10000 to Vu+ Ultimo 4K.

Is it possible to reprogram / use the remote of the ET10000 on the Vu+ Ultimo 4k?

Xtrend ET10000 (1 DVBS works via ethernet & OpenPli 9),

Xtrend ET10000 (DVBT2 & OpenPli 9, located in Thailand). Only latest stable releases.

AFAIK this isn't possible just like that. So I'm afraid the answer is 'no'.

You'll get used to it, the VU+ remote is by far the best of all, compared to all others...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi,

the VU uses toggle bits which not many others can handle.

Thank you, for the link. I could not (yet) find one for the Ultimo4K with the (exact) layout and keys as with the Xtrend ET10000.

I apreciate the effort, though.

Maybe. We are used to the ET10000. Especially the PIP button is missed...

Press two times blue button and you get pip.

If you want to assign a button for direct PiP you can go into the Hotkey menu (Menu - Parameters - System - Expert Parameters - Hotkey)

For exemple you can assing PiP to long green Go into the infobar options in the list you will find Display PiP

Press green to save

Return to TV watching long press green and PiP will start, long press green and it will be disabled.

However I was asking if the RC of the ET10000 can be used on the Ultimo4K.

In our household we used it for many many years and are used to its layout. I mentioned the PIP button as example. I already understood the RC from the ET10000 cannot be modified for that purpose.

Frenske already answered that question. No, a VU+ does not support different types of remote control.

If you are insterested, I am using an Android app to remote control the VU+ (quite old) but that works perfectly on my Samsung tablette (Galaxy Tab A - 2019) with BH and almost perfectly with OpenPLi (needs some modifs on keymap.xml file to work 100%) on my Vu+Duo4KSE.

PM me to get a download link

@gspock.

If this doesn’t violate our boardrules why don’t you add the link here so other users can use it too if they are interested.

Unless it is some kind of weird illegal plugin which I can hardly imagine. ;)

OK, I was not sure about the rules. Here it is: (this is not a plug-in, this is an Android app that used to be in the google store and was removed so time ago due to obsolescence (althoug it works well on some devices !) :
