hi
a few questions
as I understand the Duo 4K SE has less power then the Duo 4K ?
4x2100 Duo 4K vs 4x1500 Duo 4K SE
does this make a big diference?
better get the Duo 4K?
but looking on ebay I only see Duo 4K SE?
also I cannot find any image for Duo 4K SE ? will they come and if yes when?

The Duo4k is end of life because the SoC is not available for building new boxes.
VU has switched to use the Ultimo4k SoC for the new Duo4kSE

Duo4K can play 4K h264, yes because I have one and I have 4K h264 files tested. That the SE is not able was confirmed in the OpenViX board and makes sense because of the old SOC.

Vu+ DUO 4K was manufactured in 2018.
Vu+ DUO 4K SE (Second Edition) is a product of the year 2020, i.e. the new Vu+ model.
The SE model supports both H.264 and H.265 video formats (https://wiki.vuplus-...e=Vu+_Duo_4K_SE). If one or the other video format does not work in a particular Enigma, then it is an Enigma team fault and not a device fault. Maybe some BUG in Enigma. For example, the drivers may be missing or your Enigma is not updated due to new features (new chipset) in the SE model.

Isn't the issue that the Duo4K SE does not support 4K H264 ? (Only the Duo4K and Zero4K do.)

Hi,
as Dimitrij said it is no NEW chipset it is an OLD chipset so nobody can anything against this limit. The SE of course supports h264 otherwise it would not be a HD receiver but support does not mean that all resolutions are/must be supported.

It will be supported in 8.0-release, which is planned for next month.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi,
it support h264 up to 1920x1080 and h265 up to 3840x2160.
Without h264 support it would be no HD box.

There are many alternatives all offering better price/performance - depends exactly on your requrements. Out of the boxes I have (see signature) I would choose the AX HD61, alternatively I guess Octagon sf8008. If you prefer a FBC tuner receiver then its Gigablue or Vu+.

A FBC tuner ist very nice for many recordings or streamins in parallel.
A twin FBC tuner has normally two LNB inputs, but has internal not 2 but 8 tuners. Every tuner is able to receive a different transponder.
In a setup with one classis legacy cable a FBC tuner can receive in parallel 8 different transponders from 1 fo the 4 SAT quadrants (LH, LV, HH or HV)
With two classic legacy cables, which many users have for a normal twin tuner box, the box can receive in parallel 8 different transponders from 2 of the 4 SAT quadrants.
If you use a unicable SAT setup with 8 free users/scrs/frequencies you are able to receive in parallel 8 differente transponders independentally from the SAT quadrants.

FBC for SAT is a bit more complicated and expensive if you really want to use it in full. Anudanan explained quite nicely what can be received with existing equipment normal user already have.
But for DVB-C its easier. You just plug in a cable and you can record 8 streams at once. Of course if your subscription allows this

As for the Linux receiver, everyone should be able to handle IPTV.
It depends on the specific needs, everything you need to have a Linux receiver included (CI+ slot, UNI reader slot, USB 3.0 / 3.1, support for another tuner - so-called COMBO, external IR sensor, device dimensions, optical audio output, RS232 comm interface, etc.). You only have to choose for yourself, depending on what you need in the Linux receiver.
Note that some old video formats are not supported by hardware (chipset) on new Vu+ 4K devices.
Buy, for example, Formuler F4 Turbo. Same as me .
Although ... there are still many possibilities ... from which a suitable Linux receiver can be selected - Octagon, Zgemma, .... .
