Hello people!

Since more than 10 years I hope to use an option. Mybe you can realise it in your future img.

A record of sream on a client box from a server box doesn't work. Client and server are connected with only LAN cables (client has no SAT, tuners off), home network.I tried two paths: plugin remotestreamconverter or reserve receiver Client box has intern HD, stream incl. EPG goes from server on client, no problems. But a record on client doesn't work. Server has enough free tuners, that is no problem. It's missing an option in img, I think.

I hope you can build in that function, mybe....

Thank's for your work!

This a standard feature in OpenPLi, called fallback tuner (a title that doesn't cover its functionality, I admit).

It allows you to get a channel as a stream from another box (like remotestreamconverter, but completely transparent), get the channel list and/or the EPG from another box, and integrate the tmers from that other box. This last option gives you the functionality to set times on the "server" box from the "client" box.

I use this all the time, I have a VU+ Duo 4K with 16 tuners which is my central stream- and recording box. All my client boxes are tuner free (some have DVB-T), and use the above features.

All my recordings go to a NAS, and boxes have an NFS mount to that NAS (some even via wifi).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks for the answer!

That means the records will be control from server and they are recorded to the server-HD, not client-HD?

Where do I find that option fallback tuner? Is it the same ''Reservereceiver'' in German? I tried it already but it doesn't work. Mybe I need to set another option too?

PS: My server is a GB Quad 4k with 10 tuners, unicable etc., it has enough power for that issue.

I still think it should also be possible with remotestreamconverter. It just creates service references with URL. If this is a 1:xxxx service ref recording on the client box should work as it's a normal ts stream.

(not very likely that I have time to test myself in the next days)

In essence, you are forwarding a stream. But it doesn't work because E2 wants to play it on Host receiver.

Also, I suspect OP is asking how to record a stream. This does not work reliably. You get a lot of questions from IPTV users. Always gets knocked on head with " we don't support illegal iptv"

You have the option where to schedule them (in my case, a DVB-T recording I run on the client, a DVB-S recording on the server) on a box with a DVB-T tuner. You can see the difference in the color used (with the standard PLi skin, local (client) recordings are in white, remote (server) recordings in yellow.

Where do I find that option fallback tuner? Is it the same ''Reservereceiver'' in German? I tried it already but it doesn't work. Mybe I need to set another option too?

In the setup, tuners menu. No idea what the German translation is, it could well be that.

What doesn't work, exactly?

@Abu: As far as I understood gogo99 it’s about normal dvb-x services. With them I think it should work. If he has streams on the server box and wants to forward these to the client it won’t work. That’s right.
And if it’s about illegal iptv, then we can immediately stop the discussion. But as said I don’t think that’s the case.

No, that isn't illegal but it's in my home network I wrote it.

Stream from server (SAT) does work fine on client box, only record doesn't! Record is still empty because no find tuner. Mybe I must set exactly an option, both of boxes have 192.168.xx.yy/zz. I can watch TV on client but not record anything. I've send all the bouquets from server to client, all work fine.

Why do you want to record on the client box, and not on the server box, that has the tuner?

That is what I do, and my client box has NFS accces to the recordings on the NAS, so it all works transparently.
