Yes, that might be the problem, but I guess it was updated because of some reason. And I don’t know the reason.

The problem lies in qtwebkit 5.13 with 5.9 going well, which means you need to revert to this version 5.9

Hello
I just upgraded to V8.0-realese on my Vu + -Ultimo. Everything seems to be working fine, except for one thing: I don't have the "Permanent Timeshift" extension and I don't see it in the "add plugin / extension" list ...
I specify: hard disk OK, and Pause-direct function OK also; it just lacks the automatic timeshift recording.
Can you help me ?

There hasn't been such a plugin for a very long time. You can enable it in Setup - System - GUI Settings - Automatically start timeshift after...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

ChromiumOs start now on duo4k.

I add this line: config.plugins.iptvplayer.exteplayer3path=/usr/bin/exteplayer3 to file settings:/etc/enigma2/settings.

I don't known if it was the problem.

But if i select a key (yellow, blue,..). i have a black screen and i need to restart the box.

Regards

Hello
Indeed, thank you for this little reminder (it had been years since I had needed to go back to the system settings and to another image ... This explains it).   ;)
Thank you and congratulations for your work.
I adopted OpenPLI in 2014 and I do not regret my choice; it is very good with my Vu + !   :thumbs-up:

I tried to install 8.0 (20210118) again and I see that there are no changes, ServiceApp is still not installed correctly on Solo2, and I think this applies to all mips32el. During installation, it pulls in the wrong/incorrect libraries libavcodec58 and libavformat58. I found a solution on a third-party forum, only after manually installing these libraries the exteplayer3 start working.

Same problem on Zgemma Star H2 with "openpli-8.0-release-sh1-20210208_usb.zip"

Does anyone know how to fix?
Will the OpenPLi team release a patch for it?

Nothing needs to be fixed there.
That's all right.
It is only wrong if you manually install precompiled variants.
It does not work.
Hisi boxes shouldn't install exteplayer3 because hisi uses its own version internally.
mipsel and arm works perfectly.
The build of the exteplayer3 is always recompiled at the specified ffmpeg. In this respect, the dependencies are always correct.

greetings

I use these steps:

opkg update

opkg install ffmpeg
opkg install exteplayer3
opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp

later I set exteplayer3 as default player but the movies or iptv doesn't work.

Sorry for the stupid question but what does Hisi boxes mean?

On the one hand, your box is a mipsel box.
On the other hand, why don't you just try to play the streams via internal gst?
The question of what goes wrong cannot be explained without a log.
Here would be interesting how you install?
So whether the wrong feed was installed.
And a debuglog of your problem, i.e. the incorrect execution.

Some streams need "helpers", for example to merge seperate audio and video tracks.

Problem is that ext3player hasn't been maintained for 18 months, the author has abandoned it. So you can wait for things to break.

this is probably because of trimmed down ffmpeg version for mipsel in 8.0 (what was brought about by a desire to include older low-memory boxes in the new release)

am not an expert, however I supppose that if we knew which exactly decoders/encoders/etc needs to be enabled in ffmpeg to make serviceapp/exteplayer work properly, this could be possibly fixed (?)

//unless it requires full ffmpeg blob, then it's a 'political' decision on drop off some oldest stb's, and it may have to wait then for the next release

From the commit (https://github.com/O...2e8acc42e9a1630) I deduct it's a blob thing, since they are compile options.

And indeed, it is a very long list. Betacentauri mentioned that he would revisit it when he had the time.

I use the feed from official OpenPLi to install it from telnet so no third-party .ipk

Maybe you say right things, we hope someone can elaborate.

Another person here, suggested to manually install libs "libavcodec58_4.3.1-r0.1_mips32el.ipk" and "libavformat58_4.3.1-r0.1_mips32el.ipk" so everything works but as I'm not an expert I don't really know what I'm going to install in my box so I wish everything would work without third-party lib

debulog from the stream, otherwise you can't see anything.
What should be reactivated and how is a matter of the image size.
As for the attempt to downsize the image, one should start with other things anyway.
Samba 3 versus 4 are at least 6-10mb difference.

Maybe you can try to update with the two files and write whether something changes with them.
Regardless of the version number, ffmpeg is built 'open'.

I guess this is not about the exteplayer, but again about the e2iplayer plugin from some source.
If so, please mention it that way.
Here the corresponding sources must be adapted with regard to depends.
Of course it works somehow. but that makes no sense to run after it.
It's all just buggy and causes more trouble than it uses.

I cannot find any errors or problems with the exteplayer3 under mipsel.

I don't use e2iplayer. With exteplayer3 i play mkv files in h264 from USB stick. With gst the video is very jerky, so I was forced to downgrade to 17.3
