develop is exactly that, the current work in progress. It is built automatically, It is mainly meant for developers and testers, it could be instable, only guarantee is that is compiles...

Whether it becomes 8.1 or 9.0 depends in the development work, and the time of a planned release.

For end-users, it is not advised to install it. And if you do, be prepared to flash after crash... ;)

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I see that in downloads, the develop images are now downloadable.

Is this new ?  They have never been offered in downloads section.

This is indeed recently decided. A specific announcement regarding this ‘sudden’ change is being created.

On a closed topic......

Why put such an image online then?

The develop image is meant to be used by developers  bedoeld voor developers that don't have the infrastructure at home to build their own images, and for testers who want to test the latest developments as soon as possible and on as many boxes as possible, so they can provide feedback to the developers.

Only from these testers we expect and accept feedback on develop images. For this purpose we will create a separate forum, in which only developers and testers will be allowed to post.

Then........  I don't understant why you give access to develop image to everybody, but restrict feedback to some "special" users.

if you only expect and accept feedback from testers, on a separate forum, you should publish those images only on that forum, because if "no tester" people like me see something, we won't be able to post it.....

And since we won't be able to post on that forum, it would be even better not to be able to read it either.
