why on openpli 6.2, vpn manager 1.1.3 works very well,
while with openpli 8.0 it doesn't work?
I also tried versions 1.0.4, 1.1.4 and 1.1.6

Ask the author of that plugin?
Comparing 6 to 8 is like comparing Windows 2000 to Windows 8... There is a huge gap between the OE versions of both.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I have tried many versions even tried my self to fix the issue
but I m still learner . it cant be fixed until the author of plugin update the script .

yes u can and works
but during test I have found open dns is working more fine
