Good morning,

my new Vu + Duo 4Kse has a problem with the tuner

DVB-S2X FBC Twin. The two physical tuners are mapped to letter (I) and (J) and set as (easy individually Hot Bird 13E

Send DiSEqC = NO).

In practice, going to the channel list this remains disabled.

The installed image is OpenPli 8 (with other images such as BH or VTi the problem is not there).

Is a solution possible? Without OpenPli I can't stay.

I can assure you that the FBC tuner is in first place (first slot starting from the left),

in fact it is strange that I map them this way, but it only happens with OpenPli.

I happened to have been busy configuring a new Duo 4Kse and had to put both placed tuners in their proper place. The first one is the DVB-S2x FBC tuner which is ‘seen’ as A - H and the 2e tuner is the DVB-C FBC tuner which is seen as I - P so there must be something wrong in your setup.

That’s the second slot if I’m not mistaking. Looking at the back of the box.

I have to change my previous reply a bit. The box was delivered with the S2 tuner mounted in the second slot seen from the back, so this seems to be slot A although slot B is mentioned on the back. I have put the cable tuner in the first slot on the left which actually seems slot B. I can’t image there is a difference with other images regarding the location of the tuners. I guess Vu+ made a mistake with the name A and B or somewhere else in their base.

The Duo4SE only has FBC slots. For a legacy tuner slot you need to resort to an UIltimo4k or a Solo4k.
 

It's really simple (or not if you don't understand how it works). These are FBC tuners so every slot gives 8 tuners. VU+ was not so smart by calling the tuner slots 'A' and 'B' this leads to much confusion. They should have called them slot '1' and slot '2'. The "tuner" in slot '1' (now called 'A') gives you tuners A-H, the "tuner" in slot '2' gives you tuners I-P.

 

For a DVB-S2 FBC tuner it's even even more confusing, because it has two inputs, also called 'A' and 'B' and these are just as much directly related to tuner letter in Enigma. The 'A' input is always connected to the first tuner and the 'B' input is always connected to the second tuner. If the FBC tuner is in the first slot, that is A -> A and B -> B. If it's in the second slot, that will be A -> I, B -> J. To make it even more complex, the other FBC tuner 'letters' can be connected to either one input 'A' or 'B'. So that's why you shouldn't call an FBC tuner input a tuner.

 

Or even better, don't try to understand it, just use it.

On my box the right slot when you look at the back of the receiver is called Tuner A and the left slot Tuner B. So exchange the tuner cards.

An OpenVix user has had problems with multipe MTSIF cards and legacy Hybrid tuner on an Ultimo 4K for a while. The MTSIF card is the Terrestrial tuner that fits into the FBC tuner slots.

Yes, but that is not the question. The TS has one FBC MTSIF card, and one twin-tuner MTSIF card.

IMHO it‘s very simple. The DVB-S2x tuner should be in the right slot and should show in the tuner setup tuner A and B and 6 virtual tuners ending with tuner H. If you order a Duo 4Kse for satellite reception without any additional tuners a Duo 4Kse is delivered with one DVB-S2x tuner in the right slot. Period. And this is recognized as it should be, as an S2x FBC tuner.

 

The twin DVB-T2 tuner should be put in the left slot and will be named I and J. I‘m certain this will work.

That was my point as well, FBC tuner first.

But in some way it seems a bit confusing. That is why I deliberately mentioned the right slot seen towards the back of the box.
On the boxes I have seen so far the right slot is called B which it definitely completely wrong IMHO.

Thanks to all the users of the forum and to the moderators of this wonderful forum because thanks to you I solved my problem; As you suggested I swapped the tuners physically on the motherboard and everything works.
