I have found one specific problem on VU+ Ultimo 4K and Solo 4K. It is not possible to start PIP with clasic double blue button presses. This switches TV on satellite pannel. I searched where problem could be. If I switch in Setup - System - Expert setting - Display setup - Clone TV screen to LCD to "NO" PIP suddenly runs. Is it intended this should work such a way or is it some malfunction in firmware? Because till recent OpenPLI 8 firmware this two functions were separate.

Afaik the "Clone TV screen to LCD" setting is "no" by default?

According to the code:

config.lcd.showTv = ConfigYesNo(default = False)

so the default is off.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Ok, I believe you but before I tried PIP I set "Toggle LCD LiveTV" in Hotkey to long-TV press and I tried it several times. This does not work. After this I finally tried PIP and it did not run. I found then that "Clone TV screen to LCD" is "ON". Switching to "NO" enabled PIP. It seems to me that now these two function are unfortunatelly somehow linked together. But they should not be.

This is not true I have a Solo 4K and Duo 4K and pressing twice the blue button open the PiP window on the currently played channel.
You have something misconfigured on your box
Reflash without restoring anything, perform a satellite scan and test, you will see that double blue is fully functional.

@littlesat

In other words you say that topic is closed.

Ok, I can live without LiveTV, in fact it is useless function. But I oppose your idea that it is not functional for years. It worked at least in OpenPLI 6.x versions, maybe in 7.x as well. It seems to me that more things have worsen from OpenPLI 8.

@Pr2

Unfortunately, you didn't really read what I wrote. Set "Clone TV screen to LCD" to "ON" and try PIP than.

I would recommend to send an email to VU.... in our code it is supported but VU does not support it... Maybe indeed in an old 6.x it worked... At least in the latest 7.x it also did not work... it is DRIVER related...

Last drivers VU+:

"Clone TV screen to LCD" to "ON"  PIP work only in LCD

"Clone TV screen to LCD" to "OFF"  PIP work as standard

I just tried on my 4K one if the result was: if activated the LCD clone and activating the PIP the image is reproduced in the LCD display, deactivating the LCD clone and activating the PIP you see on TV but there is no possibility of do anything with the other red green and yellow buttons. So this depends on vu +? A while ago I had VTi and it worked perfectly.

I use PiP daily and I can confirm that it is working fine in the Solo4K and the Duo4K the green button is doing its job too, you can move or increase/decrease the PiP size.

There is just an ugly driver bug when you reach the PiP max possible size (place it the PiP in the upper right corner and start increase it with P+ button suddenly it will leave the upper right and move it self on the screen and you can no longer place it properly in the upper left until you reduce its size).

But I never send the TV on the front LCD.

It is useless but it is the first time I saw him, too handsome.
The rest nothing like I wrote above I just tried again.

I just try on the Solo 4k.
Long press TV display the main screen into the front LCD the I enable PiP and it is working. I use the blue + green to move the PiP screen and it is also working.
Then I zap to another channel and the same channel is displayed both on the front panel and in the main screen. PiP is still active.
So no issue on the Solo 4K.

The solo for V + is an extra step precisely because it costs more ... but it is wrong they had never done such a thing! On uno4Kse they would like to abandon it? But I don't want to insist but on VTi it works like skyQ with split, I haven't tried BH so the problem for mine exists only for the open? For me it is not a problem because when I need it I use the skyQ, but it is serious!

I perform exactely the same test on the Duo4K and it is working exactely the same as on the Solo4K.

I cannot test on the Uno 4K since I don't have one.

I don't know what to tell you maybe I'm wrong.
I'll try a backup by updating the OBH as soon as I can, and verify.

You don't need to try I did. Today I put the 8.1 from USB (the other day I did from the panel) and the PIP works perfectly and the colored buttons ok.

O.T.
I put back a backup of the VTi, they were able to immediately have the two windows at 50% horizontally and swap the channels with 0.
I forgot to take a screenshot if I do it again.
