For both the Xsarius and the Qviart there is some code changes implemented via IFDEF, in both the audio and the videosink code. I can't judge if they are relevant / needed, I don't have the knowledge.
I have asked Neo to cleanup the SAB BSP.

Was trying to build a test image for the Duo2, turns out archive.vuplus.com no longer exists. So none of the tarballs in the bsp can be downloaded anymore...

I've build an image for the Xsarius Galaxy4K with our dvbmediasink, and several media don't have sound, so the changes do seem to be needed. It hangs in the drivers on a file with dts audio, but so does the release image.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Scratch this, talking bollocks.
The Xsarius 4K boxes are always build with our dvbmediasink, the included one is never used.
It doesn't play DTS with video (no audio, only video), and it doesn't play a webm video with Vorbis audio (vp8 video, no audio). It crashes on an audio file with DTS audio, and on a WAV file with PCM audio. Which means the changes are probably needed.
So appearently nobody with a Xsarius or Qviart box ever plays media.

Yes, I can't build VU + either, something is always missing.
4k receivers do not necessarily need prioritized attention. Storage is big enough.
All mipsel receivers should also work perfectly.
But it is possible that something would have to be adjusted in the dvb mediasink.
But you could easily compare that to the OE Alliance.

OE Alliance uses the dvbmediasink from christophevcr, which is quite different. The mediasink used by dags is a fork of that same dvbmediasink.
I've already compared both codebases, but they are quite different in places, so it's not easy to get a diff, this needs a C specialist with enough dvb knowledge, and I am neither.

I know, I know the two plugins.
In principle it is simple, because you can follow the commits to see whether something worth mentioning has really been added.
If necessary, you can also switch to it temporarily for problems.
It was the wish to maintain a special dvb mediasink internally.

I've just finished building a Galaxy4K image using that dvbmediasink and branch, builds fine. Testing won't be before tomorrow night though...

I have a HD51 and recently downloaded several mp4 songs from youtube site.
Some of them work but most not. This is probably due to the audio codec used, Of course, they all work OK on the computer.
Can you recommend a simple tool to convert the mp4 so that the sound will also work on HD51 box.

Update: it seems the same video watched using Youtube plugin works OK.
By the way, is it possible to record videos being watched on Youtube plugin?
