Hi.

I tried to flash the Maxytec Multibox Twin image on the Ax branded Multibox Twin box but I got the error "invalid image".

Any ideas what I can do about it?

Afaik the Ax / Anadol and Maxytec recievers got the same hardware and just have a different branding on the case.

The recovery image also seems to change nothing - everything seems to work while flashing (thumb drive is blinking, takes some time, boots back to multiboot) but the boot logo didn't change.

For now I'm running openATV recovery + image 6.4.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Same hardware but they can change a single id to distinguish between both model and perform a check on it on the driver level, preventing what you try to do to work, as seems to mention the error report that you get.

if you know how to patch firmware possibly - I know someone that does that to run sf8008 on a beyonwiz box - but takes a fair bit of technical knowledge.

Well then the atv image might not work anymore.

I was thinking of some kind of force it or"flash it anyway" thing. But I guess it's not worth it.

Thank you guys anyway :)

Have a nice day

If u will force update u may brick the box .it will over write the boot loader and box will be damaged.

Every machine has its own boot identical boot loaders. in first phase it verifies the hardware and in 2nd phase it starts the firmware . the one and only safe way is to try neoboot. it has the option to install any other machine's  firmware ( which should have same hardwares) .

More information  u can find it at author's forum/page . just for helping purpose I share the pic
