What is the recommended way to configure unicable in openpli für FBC SAT tuners

I know I must use a different SCR and frequenz for Tuner A-H.

But how must I configure the connected to parameter, if tuner A is connected to the cable

All tuners (B-H) connected to A

or

Tuner B connected to A

Tuner C connected to B

Tuner D connected to C

...

Tuner H connected to G

What is the difference betwee these to setups?

So all tuners (B-H) must configure with

connected to tuner A

thanks

Do you know why the automatic mode with legacy cables doesn´t use the "connected to" mode to A or B for all other Tuners (C-H)?

If I make many recordings which need all 8 tuners  than I see in the tunerconfig for example this "connected to" picture

Tuner C connected to A

Tuner D connected to B

Tuner E connected to C (not to A)

Tuner F connected to E (not to A)

Tuner G connected to D (not to B )

Tuner H connected to G ( not to B )

If your box shows you that, you must have configured it that way.

The default for all leaf tuners is "FBC Automatic".

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

i have not configured tuner C-H.
I can only see the connected to state if the tuner is used.
I see it in the setup tuner menu and then in the tuner list

These connections are dynamicly and not fixed. It depends on the used transponders

I can only assume that this is the way the hardware works, Enigma doesn't do anything when a leaf tuner is allocated.

That was the reascon for my question in port #1 if the best config with a unicable setup to connect tuner B-H all to tuner A or better to configure a connect chain to the previous tuner.

In the vti forum all people configure a connect chain but here in the forum I have found a recommendation for a connection all  to tuner A

I´ve now a new DURLINE DCS 552-16 unicable switch between my legacy Switch and the quattro LNB and everything works fine with openpli 7.3 and two uno4kse Boxes.

My old ET 9000 with openpli doesn´t work with the DURLINE DCS 552-16. I know the image only supports unicable EN50494  for 8 SCRs. I´ve tested EN50494 also with the uno4kse and openpli 7.3 and it works fine. But normally I use the uno4kse boxes with JESS/EN50607 unicable II. Sometimes the ET9000 gets a signal but most not. I think the version of my openpli 4.0 is too old or the driver has for the et9000 has some bugs with unicable.

But that is not a big problem because I use the et9000 with the legay switch.

This is my openpli 4.0 on my et9000

OE-System: PLi-OE Distribution: openpli Firmware-Version: 4.0 Treiberversion: 3.8.7+20130524-r0.5 Kernelversion: 3.8.7 GUI-Version: 2016-02-19

maybe it is too old for working fine with unicable

Your box need to support unicable and FBC and I really don't think that the et-9000 support it.

Yes, with my two uno4kse boxes it work fine with the durline DCS 552-16, only my old ET9000 uses now the legacy cables of the old legacy switch

ET95000 does support unicable for sure, it worked fine* here with Unicable (I) LNB on a daily basis, when I own it
*however, it required applying some tweaks in delays using satellite-equipment-control plugin, to get signal reliably every time you switched channel / tuner (without it "sid not found in pat" appeared frequently)

so I guess it should work with your switch in EN50494 mode (?)

but with your setup that including also FBC boxes, I assume that probably unicable II mode is more desired, and I have no idea whether you can mix modes or something (total layman in regard advanced switches etc), so indeed maybe staying with a legacy switch for et9500 could be the best option anyway...

No, Unicable support is software, not hardware. OpenPLi 4 is most likely too old to support modern switches.

Yes but it combines it with FBC tuner aren't FBC tuners supposed to be supported by hardware?

The two are not related. Unicable / Unicable II is a switching protocol, just like DiseqC, and using a similar signaling mechanism.

OpenPLi can do that on any tuner, but not every version has the same features, I can imagine that there isn't much support for switches or setups with lots of SCR's in OpenPLi 4.

The FBC tuner (Full Band Capture) is originally designed for a Wideband LNB, which has two outputs, H and V, but no separation in frequency bands. Hence you have two externally connected tuners (to those two outputs), and 6 that can piggy-back on one of those two, for recording. For this reason you'll see for example the SKY Q box advertised as a 7 tuner box (watching + 6 recording), as they reserve both A and B for watching.

Since signalling is software, Enigma also allows you to connect other things to an FBC tuner, or even split the two inputs over two different systems (I have one connected to my own switch, and one connected to the buildings GSO).
