I have had my Dreambox DM8000 HD PVR for quite some time now and have tried the openpli-8.0-release-dm8000-20210308.nfi but i have come across a flaw in the software, the Dreambox FEC only goes up to 8/9 but in the OPenPLI software it saying it can do 9/10 which is outside of the dreamboxes specifications. I found this out while trying to scan 27.5W as one of the frequencies is 11495 V 44100 FEC 9/10 ,can someone in development please correct this or is there a workaround to be able to use this?

I'm afraid adding if box is DM8000 then exclude something from the possible FECs is a not done patch....  Are you sure the box cannot do this?... or do you might have an other issue?

It was DMM that already included it in their code back in 2009!!! So it looks like unless it is not on the specs the box should be capable of doing it...

https://github.com/O...85caca373e5738f

It was even added by DMM peoply in 2006!!!

In DVB-S2 it should be possible... in DVB-S not....

FEC 9/10 is and was never handled by the DM8000!!! Only 4K compatible boxes can use FEC 9/10.. The DM8000 is a 2K box..

Ah right I thought it might have been down to a driver issue but it looks like I will have to miss that satellite. Luckily I have a Technomate 6900 and that is older but it can pick it up, but there lies another problem for another forum question. Thanks for you help m8.

Wierd as the dmm people added 9/10 fec in enigma2 since 2006.... I think we should not add exclusions for this ancient box...

We can only consider to add a feature in systeminfo when 9/10 is available and only add it in the ui when it is possible.

DM was very innovative in those days. They simply added 9/10 in the assumption it would be used some day. They could not anticipate it was used with 4K/8 PSK simply because 4K did not even exist!! Adding 9/10 for the DM8000 is useless because the hardware cannot handle it...

To fix it we can only add a feature extended_fecs or so? Which boxes can handle it and which cannot handle it. As it is fec in fact it is not In correlation with 4K or not...

May I suggest not to waste your precious time on an issue with a piece of antique, for which we will drop support in the near future?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

If they added it then they must have known that the hardware could use it. My technomate which is older can handle it seems very weird

No, they thought simply it would be used for H.264 which the DM8000 supports.. Now it's used for H.265 transmissions only which the DM8000 does not support.....

The fec etc. does not have any relation with the video codec.

Depends on what your requirements are. How many tuners? Of which type(s)? Internal disk? How many CI slots? How many card readers? etc...
