I think that most users of any box with a display, whether it is a Vu+ Uno 4Kse or a GB or Axas model actually care how their LCD display looks. In many cases the box is hidden in a cupboard or to small for really properly seeing the content if a picon is shown too. That might be the reason that people don’t respond. They obviously don’t care. In addition to this I know that LCD4linux isn’t working 100% on a Uno 4Kse. Sometimes it causes a delay when zapping. This is possible to solve with one change in the setup. You might put some effort in this plugin. Change this specific value to 400 like I did. You can find this setting under http://ipaddres_of_y.../config/?Mode=1 under global.

I can move this to the skin section where the real skinners are present. Perhaps that they are willing to solve your issue.

I understand the right situation because you deal with so many decoders.
Mine wanted to help with the specific decoder nothing else.
LCD4linux does not work well for me so I proceeded to model it by hand and I like it.

If you want to move it, go ahead.

I have been writing for many days and no one has ever replied, so I have no one has this decoder or it doesn't matter.

It is more likely that

  • people have other things to do, or
  • don't care about a display (I don'!, I can't even see it from where I sit!), or
  • simply have no idea (I don't know anything about skins), so it is pointless to respond

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

For me it was a pastime.
Ok.

I'd like to have LCD display on the STBs and that's why I am using VU+ Solo 4K and Vu+ Duo 4K for my daily usage.

To be really honest without you, I prefer the default LCD skin which already give me all the informations that I want and I'd like the current proportion.

So I could not find any benefits with your modified LCD skin.

Obviously the default skin gives you more satisfaction, in fact the xml file is "calibrated" for larger LCD than my modest one 4Kse!
If you read well it is dedicated to the One precisely because the proportions were not correct and I adapted them for my decoder.

However when I have some time I will only improve it and I mean only for owners of 1 4Kse, and not for those who write only to write !!!

I was thinking that your LCD was of the same resolution as the one in the Solo4K or Duo 4k.

Maybe it means that the dimensions are not the same.

Does anybody knows how to retrieve the front LCD resolution? So i can show it for the Solo 4K and the Duo 4K.

Edit: self answer:

root@vusolo4k:/proc/stb/lcd# cat /proc/stb/lcd/xres
1E0
root@vusolo4k:/proc/stb/lcd# cat /proc/stb/lcd/yres
140

1E0=740

140=320

So:  740x320 for Solo 4K

Duo 4K same resolution:

root@vuduo4k:/proc/stb/lcd# cat xres
1E0
root@vuduo4k:/proc/stb/lcd# cat yres
140

1E0=740

140=320

So:  740x320 for Duo 4K

Connect to your box in telnet (or ssh if you have enable it).

Then type the 2 following lines:

cat /proc/stb/lcd/xres
cat /proc/stb/lcd/yres

Then copy & paste the result here.

Just got back from off-site work.

The previous question was misinterpreted or I did not explain myself well. Anyway I knew how to do it but I didn't know the command. Here is the result:

cat /proc/stb/lcd/xres=190

cat /proc/stb/lcd/yres=F0

In the original skin_display.xml file, look where the clock is placed!
Impossible to see.

<widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="320,250" size="130,52" halign="right" font="FdLcD;42" foregroundColor="lightcyan" >
<convert type="ClockToText">Default</convert>
</widget>

Basically in another display!

This has been an ongoing disccussion ever since IanSav changed the code.

It would be better for everyone if someone posts the correct version for every box here, so we can update the build, and make an end to these discussions...

You could create a 3d with all LCDs.
