Good morning
I need to use "terrestrialscan" that I find in the openpli feeds, (systemplugin); unfortunately I was not successful, but the same plugin with other images works fine.
Should I forget this plugin if I will continue to use openpli image?
Thanks for replay

What does this plugin do that can't be done with the scan functionality that is in the image?

What do you mean with "not succesful"?

Installed the plugin on my box, it found all 9 transponders, and then it switched to the standard scan to read those transponders.

So I'm clueless to what the added benefit is of this plugin? Other than that it is slower than the built-in scan?

Maybe need remove old versian terrestrialscan https://github.com/O...fc10b9d84119ec6

And add original version Huevos

https://github.com/o...TerrestrialScan

With his permission, of course.

I still don't understand the added value.

This plugin offers many scanning options.

Just try it.

And what difference do those many options have, if you only have a few transponders and a short list of channels?

Just trying to understand the value while not having the time and energy to install an OE-A plugin...

In short, the plugin doesn't work, it just looks the same normal scan.

And what difference do those many options have, if you only have a few transponders and a short list of channels?

With normal scanning you only get a "Last Scanned" folder in which you find the channels in alphabetical order.
With the "Terrestrial Scan" plugin you get a second folder named "Terrestrial" with the channels in order with the rules of your country.

Ah, ok. So a sort of autobouquetmaker, but for terrestrial?

That explains why I never used it, those "rules" usually  suck (at least, they do here) ;).

Time to adapt something in e2 that can do that instead of a ‘hacky’ plugin (most plugins modify the settings files around enigma2 and then reload the list which is not how it should not be done or is the best method). When this is added it might also work for satellite scans.
I’m still hooding one time Huovos can create some time for this (bigger) project.

Many responded off topic by expressing their opinions.
Now I would like to express my opinion with 2 questions.
1) is it wrong or is it correct to rely on a plugin that I found among the system plugins that the image offers?
2) is it wrong or is it correct to report to the team that it doesn't work while on other images the plugin works very well?

I ask nothing more to be able to continue using Openpli, if this is not possible I will use another image that supports the terrestrialscan plugin.

Greetings

1. No.

2. No.

The short term solution that was suggested was to ask Huevos to see if an upgrade is possible (plugins for OE-A based images and OpenPLi based images are likely not to be compatible).

The long term solution that was suggested was to incorperate LCN based scanning in the existing scanning code in the tuning menu.

Sorry for the delay due to health problems.
Thanks for the replay, I hope @Huevos finds the time and the desire to find the solution defined "short term solution"
