Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Well. then i will build a bitbake recipe to let anyone build their own dosbox, however, will work only with a custom SDL2, it seems that one provided by OpenPli 8.1 does not have DirectFB precompiled in

Maybe have a chat with Athoik about this, wasn't the SDL2 recipe his?

afais all devices supporting kodi should be able to run thesenew binaries (arm/mipsel ofc).

See, I am '68 so my first home console was Atari 2600. Then ZX-Spectrum, then X86 16 bit, 32 bit, etc.
I do like these old emulators.

yes, I forgot the ZX-81 (never had the 80) and the QL got from a nerd friend who came from UK with two ZX-Spectrum's 48kb in the first 80's
The Atari 2600 was exchanged with one ZX-Spectrum back then

ZX's were never that popular in my country. You had the Apple IIc, the Tandy TRS-80, eduation used mainly Philips P2000's or 6800 boards, and after than came the Commodore 16 and 64. And then the x86 era started.
Had or used them all. And quite a few (not so) mini's, like the Pr1me and the Burroughs B90. And later the IBM 4341.
