Renaming the files is not goal of the exercise.
.meit or .aeit files give only info in the GUI.
.eit give the info in the GUI and OWIF. At least on a mipsel an possibly an ARM reciever. Not on HiSIL.
Now I have several mkv files with no description. I can add a .meit file or .eit file (manually) to have a description.
If I add a .meit file, I need TMBD to be installed.
On a mipsel and ARM receiver an .eit file does the job.
But on a HiSil not.
So I was renaming .meit files to illustrate the point I am trying to make.
And the point is on a HiSil .eit files do not provide a description for .mkv or .avi files.
An .meit file has the same info and build as an .eit file.
Pierre, you are missing the point. I do not want to rename the files. It is just a tool to produce .eit files for .mkv files, without going to go through the hassle of making them from scratch.
And yes I can add .meit files to the .mkv files. But the info is not given then in OWIF on either a mispel, ARM or HiSil.
.eit files for mkv are working on the GUI and OWIF on mipsel and ARM receivers. Not on HiSil receivers.
