On my VU Ultimo 4K with Openpli 8.0 I've been experimenting with iptv. Somehow I just can't get the epg time correct. The epg keeps showing me program information from 2 hours earlier. (Yes, I did check my time and zone settings, tried transponder and internet time). The info from my provider is correct because on other devices the epg gives the correct information. I've seen many people having the same problem on forums using enigma2 devices but no one seems to have a solution. I hope someone here has one.

It's happening on all the IPTV channels. Funny thing is the EPG on my cable and satellite channels is correct. Just not the iptv. I tried different iptv epg with E-Channelizer, Xtreamjedi, Rytec. The iptv epg keeps giving the 2 hours offset.

E-Channelizer, Xtreamjedi, Rytec. The iptv epg keeps giving the 2 hours offset.

All these utils have no effect on the imported timings.  They only link a service ref to a channel  id in the XMLTV files.

All the timings are in the XMLTV files.

The same channels in both cable of sat and IPTV should have the same schedule imported.

If that is not the case, then you have to look elsewhere.

Can you check for such on occurence, pls?

BTW are the cable or sat channels and IPTV on the same receiver?

I am puzzled.

Are there channels which are both in the IPTV and sat bouquets?

Can you compare the EPG for those?

And can you at least tell me some of the channels which have the shifted EPG.

With the info you have given sofar, I can make head nor tails from this problem.

You should give some more info.  Start with with identifying the channels in question.  (Not all - just a few).  So I can start looking at something.

PS: With the limited amount of info you provide, I get the feeling you are pulling my leg.

Ok, first of all I'm not pulling your leg here, why should I ? If you Google for: "enigma2 iptv epg time offset" you will see plenty links on the subject. The only one that claimed to have a solution was here https://www.linuxsat...ial-by-ravstar/ but sadly that didn't work for me.

Yes, all my dutch, german and english channels are in both bouquets. The sat/cable bouquets give correct information. The iptv bouquet is 2 hours off (on every channel)

And can you at least tell me some of the channels which have the shifted EPG.

Ok, to name but a few: Ned 1, Ned 2, Ned 3, RTL4, BBC 1-4, ITV 1-4, Sky, etc. etc.

That is very strange.

I definitely can say that for Ned1/2/3 BBC1/2 are correct.  I am using these myself.  I should have noticed.

Now I am going to ask you to do some digging.

Find the Bouquet entries for Ned1/2/3/ and BBC1./2 for the IPV channels.

List these here.  You can delete the info with the URL

f.i.:

The entry:

#SERVICE 5002:0:1:2:0:32:0:0:0:3:http%3a//player-api.new.livestream.com/accounts/27755193/events/8452381/live.secure.m3u8:atv
#DESCRIPTION atv

you can edit like this:

#SERVICE 5002:0:1:2:0:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//:atv
#DESCRIPTION atv

Now take the service ref of the lines (here 5002:0:1:2:0:32:0:0:0:0:) and search for this service ref in every channels file you can find in the etc/epgimport folder on your receiver.

Omit the first digits ( 5002, 4097, 1)

For the above channel I got:

<!-- IPTV --><channel id="ATV.be">4097:0:1:2:0:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//example.com</channel><!-- ATV -->

Found them.  List them here.

Provide me also with all the sources.xml files you got in /etc/epgimport

You probably made a few with the use of the m3u8 convertors you used.

So even further  (looking in the future) can you have a look in the m3u8 file you got from your provider.

Does this file contains information in the tvg-id=  tag?

Again, a few lines from this m3u8 file will go a long way.  You can remove the identity of the IPTV provider and you own log-in.

(I do not not need them to work, Just see if I can offer you something better)

From the files you have send me, I think I know now what is happening.

The utility you are using, is raping our files.

And there is absolutely no need to.

1.  In the /etc/epgimport there should be only 2 files (for the moment.)

The first is the rytec.sources.xml file.

the second is the custom.channels.xml file.

I think the rytec.sources.xml file is present.  If not download it from here:  https://github.com/d...Gimport-Sources

For the second file rename simply the file jmx.IPTV.channels.xml to custom.channels.xml

remove any other file from this folder.  (Of course you can chose to move them to a secure location, if you afraid to delete them)

2. Import the normal Rytec sources.

All your IPTV channels should have the correct EPG

PS:  When using the custom.channels.xml file, EPGimport makes automatically use of it, and links your IPTV channels (generated by jmx) to the EPG.

It is possible jmx has made wrong links, but we will cross that bridge when it happens.

So, it seems to be something on the providers side. I took a trial version at a different provider. This one gives the correct epg info on all devices. Still odd my old providers epg is correct on tizen and android but not on the VU+

That is why I say the provider is raping our files.

It takes our files, changes the timezone in it, and by doing this destroys it for use on enigma2.

They are problabaly omitting the timezone, because kodi cannot handle it.  But I would like to see it.  So if you could post an extract from the XMLTV file for a few shows.

Something like this:

Many thanks for not providing the EPG info of your provider.

If you ask for help, some info from your side is needed, to get grip on the problem.

Not providing the requested info, results in no help.

In this particular case, it would helped me to understand what this ITV provider is doing.  Now I am still guessing.
