It's more about the tool than the actual Hisi Box.
The box will probably be a pendent to the Maxytec Multibox
At least that's how I understood it

Did you check that display the picon on the front LCD is enabled on your system?
There is an option: Menu -> Parameters -> System -> GUI parameters -> user interface
There you will have an option (on the second screen) to display or not the picon on the front panel.
You may be need to turn your OpenPLi into the expert mode level.
