I test it on osmio+4k and on DUO4K.

On the internet box i have two SSID name, one at 2.4 GHz (channel 12) and one at 5 GHz.

On osmio+ 4k only the 5 GHz is detected.

On DUO4k both are detected and it is better to connect on 2.4 GHz because is more stable. On 5 GHz i have too much deconnections. (distance between

the internet box an duo4k = 4 meters).

There is also a litle bug on changing the SSID name. if you change SSID name by clicking on the detected SSID and you click "ok" to validate the SSID. In this case the SSID name isn't validated. You need to enter on the virtual keybard and erase a letter and put again the same letter to validate your choice.

On openPLI 8.0 last release, WLAN on osmio4k+ works fine. Both wifi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are detected. The bug is on OpenPLI develop.

Which driver is used by the OSMio4K+ ?

( you can check on the commandline using lsmod )

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

This result come from openPLI 8.0 and both wifi are detected and very good connection.

No separate wifi driver loaded. So it uses the Broadcom embedded wifi hardware, identical to for examle the VU+ Duo 4K.

What 5Ghz channel are you using? This wifi hardware is known to only support the basic ranges, I had to change mine.

This is the Osmio4k+ config, on openpli 8.0 and both WIFI are detected.

But with openpli developp only 5 GHz is detected on Osmio4k+:.probably a bug on openpli develop.

Nothing changed in the Enigma network code for dogs years. If it doesn't show up in the scan, it is possibly a driver regression / issue.

I don't own a Mio 4K+ myself, so I can't test it.

I do some tests on WLAN ( dchcp off, fixed IP)

- with the last original VU+ DUO 4k image : WIFI works fine but only 2.4 GHz SSID detected

- with the last Openpli 8.0 VU+ DUO 4k image : WIFI works fine but only 2.4 GHz SSID detected

- with the last Openpli 8.0 developp VU+ DUO 4k image : WIFI works fine but only 2.4 GHz SSID detected

- with Openpli 8.0 Osmio 4 K image : WIFI works fine and 2.4 GHz SSID and 5 GHz detected

- with Openpli 8.0 develop Osmio 4 K image : WIFI works fine but only 5 GHz detected

For DUO4K the problem seems to be in last VU+ drivers (i remenber both 2.4 GHz and 5  GHz were detected is the past)

For Osmio 4K+, the solution is in Openpli 8 and if WLAN hardware of DUO4K and Osmio4k+ are the same it can be also the solution for the DUO 4K.

There is a property "hidden network" in openpl 8.0 in Osmio 4K+ but not in duo4k. This property exist in original DUO4k image.

OSmio4K has a more recent kernel version than VU+

Just perform the command line:

uname -a

And you will see the kernel version.

Edision is the only brand that I know which follow the kernel update, the other one stick with the same kernel "forever".

I am not sure that  it is a kernel version problem.

- with Openpli 8.0 Osmio 4 K image : WIFI works fine and 2.4 GHz SSID and 5 GHz detected

- with Openpli 8.0 develop Osmio 4 K image : WIFI works fine but only 5 GHz detected

The old openpli release is better. And same result for duo4K because in he past both wifi were detected.

I test also WLAN on OpenATV with DUO4K and  is a disaster.

So you means that there is a regression in the WiFi detection with develop compared to released version 8?

I have just test my VU+ Duo 4K internal WiFi and it retrieve both the 5GH and 2.4GH network.

Same on my OSMio4K WiFi detect properly the 5G and 2.4G network.

May be your wifi is too weak in 5G and it cannot be properly detected.

I change the channel (lower frequency not automatic) on the internet box and now i detect both with the duo4K.

But with same WLAN hardware, the result is different, With  automatic channel it was ok with the osmio. (Osmio has two visible antenas)

I said it before, but maybe I should repeat myself:

Not every 5Ghz wifi adapter supports all 5Ghz bands. The VU+ Duo 4K internal adapter for example only supports the A band (up to channel 64). Make sure your AP uses a low channel number, and try again.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I doubt it is hardware related, it is probably driver related.

With the last openpli release.

On Duo4K, two bands 2.4 and 5 GHz are detected, If you select one, you have the good SSID selected in the WLAN property but it is impossible to save it (to change SSID,to change band)

There is a property "hidden network" in openpl 8.0 in Osmio 4K+ but not in duo4k. This property exist in original DUO4k image.

on Osmio + 4 K , WIFI works fine but only 5 GHz detected.

Can you describe exactly what steps you take to select and save the WLAN config. As I can't reproduce it here.

In Network configuration/ Scan wireless networks.

You choose (SSID 5 GHz if you are at 2.4)  and click "Connect". Then you are in Network Setup with the selcted SSID, Then you click save..

The new config isn't saved.
