I got quite a lot of legal IPTV channels that lose audio after a couple of seconds.
Often audio comes back after a random while but it's not really watchable.
It's not on all channels but on 60%, mostly USA.
This does not dependent on video resolution.
All channels play fine on my PC on VLC sharing the same internet connection.
Is there probably a solution to the issue? Maybe a plug-in?

opkg update opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceappOnce installed go into: Menu - System - ServiceApp and there change the player to extEplayer3 press OK reboot your STB and test.

Menu - Plugins (Applications) - Green button - Systemplugins - ServiceApp.
Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. 
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

YES !!!! Thank you! That made my day!
It worked .. I can finally watch my (US) News Channels.
And even changing IPTV Channels is much faster Before it used to be a pain sometimes!
Is the ext3 player now the default player for everything ?

Hi there !
I had exactly the same problem. However, in my case it was a local IPTV provider with an MPEG-TS stream.
So instead of service 4097 (playback in Gstreamer), I simply used service 1 (internal DVB-Mediasink) and the problem with dropped sound was solved.

Just overwrite the first SRC value in the userbouquest files (with IPTV stream-links).
For example:
4097:0:1:........:http://.........m3u
Replace to:
1:0:1:.............:http://.........m3u
However, I note that my problem was related to the MPEG-TS specific video format, that dvb-mediasink supports.
