In all cases it is a kernel supported driver. Initially I tought it could be a difference in kernel version, but the vuzero runs an old 3.x kernel, so if that works fine, it can't be it.

 

Firmware correctly installed on the sf8008?

Which driver do you install on OE-A to make it work?

Same on section downloads.

For a better understanding:

 

osmini4k and OpenATV: Lock all signal and no appear gray channels.

sf8008 and OpenATV: No lock, because appear DVB-S2x

 

osmini4k and OpenPLi: Lock all signal and appear gray channels (tuner unavalilable)

sf8008 and OpenPLi: No lock, because appear DVB-S2x

What you see in downloads are meta-packages, they don't contain anything, just have dependencies to the packages that need to be installed.
 

If I compare ours with OE-A, we don't install:

firmware-mn8847x
kernel-module-md88472

what happens if you install those manually (with opkg install)?

 

Altough that does not explain why it works on the vu+ and the edision (unless those modules are already installed, or embedded in the kernel on those boxes).
