Hello,

Each file recorded with my DUO² has it's own resume point stored somewhere (in the corresponding .cut file I guess ?).
But when it comes to external files (DVD rip, camcorder, smarphone...), it remembers only the resume point of the last file that has been played.

Didn't find anyone mentioning this, is it the normal behavior ? haven't find any option for this.

Thx.

Nobody ?
Please let me rephrase my question :

If I do :
- play movie01.mp4

- stop

- play movie02.mp4

Then the resume point of movie01.mp4 will be lost.

Do you have the same problem ?
Can it be configured so that every file has it's own resume point ?

Are those files played from a location where your box has read write access?

Copy the file into the /media/hdd/movie/ and play it from there and check it the resume point is working.

Yes, this is working on my VU+DUO-4K-SE with OpenPLi 8.0, including with files on NAS where write access is given.

I remember having this problem once, I think it was a bug with default media player.

Try EMC (Enhanced Movie Center) which is much better and more configurable than the default one.

If you're already using it, then it must be something else because it works fine here with .cut files and everything.

Login with telnet or ssh on the box, and type

touch /media/hdd/movie/testfile && rm /media/hdd/movie/testfile

any error messages?

Permissions to read a file is not the same as the rights to create a file...

EMC is a replacement for the movie player ? I couldn't find it in the plugins repository.

No error message. The file is created and deleted as expected.

Am I supposed to have a .cut file written next to my mp4 file, the same way it does for .m2ts files ?

I'm using OpenPLI since 2018 (I think it was v6.0 back then), and I'm positive that I NEVER had a .cut created for a file that was not .m2ts.

Resume points for non ts file are stored in the file /home/root/resumepoints.pkl as far as I know. Don't know why it is like this.

Well, this is weird...

My resumepoints.pkl is about 8KB big and contains 36 entries.

When I play a video, the last entry is replaced by the current file and the number of entries does not grow up

When I delete resumepoints.pkl , it is recreated with the same content either after some random time, or at reboot.

Is anyone understanding what's happening here ?

As to the last point: enigma keeps the data  in memory, and only updates it when it closes down (for a restart  or a reboot).

So to delete  it, you first have to stop enigma using "init 4". Then delete the file, and start enigma again with "init 3".

It (also) depends on the file you try to resume.... not all 'formats' can be resumed.... there are files (mp4s) available for download that are not correctly 'compiled' which means resume cannot work on enigma boxes. They have somehow a currupted timing mechanism.

Thank you !

This solved the problem.

root@vuduo2:~# init 4
root@vuduo2:~# rm /home/root/resumepoints.pkl
root@vuduo2:~# init 3

Now I'm wondering if I will be stuck when I reach 36 entries again.
