This is a connection lost with the server during download.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I do not have any problem with the connection. My other receiver finishes importing without any  issue.

 

@Doglover

Can I use any sources file or I need to have the file for my receiver?

Where can I find the newest one?

There is no difference in the source files for the receivers.  They all use the same file.

There is an issue with the specific download mirror box randomly selected:

That link hangs here too (as in: it connects, but no or very little data is being received).

The latest change in EPGimport should circumvent this.  If the download does not finish in 30 sec, the download will be aborted.

Wait a moment.

http://91.121.106.17...data/rytecBG.xz  is from an old source.  (dating back from 2017)

The sources have been changed for some time now.

 

The source for Bulgaria is:

refreshing this old thread because again running empgimport generates crashes, it misbehaves in similar way like earlier discussed here.

 

I use VTi 15.0.02, with pligin version enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport - 1.0-r41-20171106

and getting EPG for French, Belgian and Polish channels.

This Bad/Stop time error is this:

2017 version probably doesn't support .xz compression format. You need to update your version.

.xz compression seems to be  properlysupported by this plugin version.
 
I have set "Load EPG only services in bouquets" and crashes haven't happened for last 2 days, I'll observe it further.

Could it be that you import too much EPG?

On which receiver are you using this? 

f.i. on my old VU duo I have to be careful how much I EPG import.  Too much and crashes occur.

This is caused because of the memory runs out.

 

Escpecially the Polish, German and UK EPG are large files.

Combined with the IPTV file - a collection of odd channels, it could be too much.

I use VU+ Duo 4K

 

No IPTV, only sat channels.

 

Currently epg.dat file has 14MB.

That should not be the problem then.  Plenty of memory in a VU+ Duo 4K.

And 14MB is not excessive.  (on my HD2400 it is 31 MB).

There have been crashes reported on other forums using OE-A version. I'm not sure if it is same crash. The fix was this

That is an py3 conversion issue, the infamous bytes vs str. I doubt VTI is using py3.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Nope, I have python 2.7.9 on my VTI image.

However, I do suspect exactly same thing like we discussed in this chain back in 2021, ie. overflow caused by a certain variable (too long EPG entries that had to be trimmed?)
