I have the new PULSe 4K from AB-COM and find that blindscan for DVB-S2 is very poor for the ku band. Blindscan does not exist at all for the c band.  Who supports this receiver or is it supported? Emails to AB-COM are not answered. The PULSe 4K would be a great receiver for use in North America if a little bit of work was done to it. So I ask if anyone supports the advertised machine features, and where to go or who to contact if support for blindscan and other machine features exist.

Thanks.

You can contact them:

https://www.abcomeu.com/

When I contact them they respond, they are perhaps just very busy.

PULSe 4K use stripped down blindscan as 'Supports_Blind_Scan: yes' in HiSilicon.

A separate binary file from the manufacturer is required, as in HiSilicon -->Octagon/Lunix Dual/Gigablue Trio 4K.

Same goes for the gfutures driver for HD51, H7 etc for their Silabs tuner, the opposite of SF8008 with the same tuner but a provided binary file which makes a world of difference.

Thanks for the comments.

Maybe they did not get my first email or ??? Anyway, here is their reply:

Hello,

we´ve informed the producer of the box about these issues.
Once I get info about a solution from them, I´ll let you know.

We will see....

Excellent!!!

Looks like they are  not going to fix dvb-s/s2 blindscan though. Would be nice if they would remove blindscan from machine features if they are not going to fix it.

I tested the new 20220504 drivers that are supposed to fix DVB-S/S2 blindscan with dismal results. On a ku satellite at 103 west with 8 active ku band transponders, the PULSe 4K managed to find one or two transponders with 5-10 services, while the Octagon SF8008 found several transponders and over 100 services. I don't consider this good enough to even be beta blindscan drivers. C band blindscan in the PULSe4K seems to be unusable.

Anyway, Ceryon-bsp seems to think the blindscan problem is solved, so I guess this will be "as good as it gets" for the PULSe4K satellite blindscan. Perhaps Ceryon-bsp or whoever is coding satellite blindscan does not know what they are doing, or maybe they have no way to test what they do? Anyway, the results are the same: The satellite blindscan in the PULSe4K performs poorly and is not usable.

No single enigma receiver has a decent working blindscan. The implementation/interface is really bad (external executable that talks to the tuner directly) and the results are mostly cryworthy. There is no real reason why it needs to be this way, other than that there is no real interest from the manufacturers. It probably also has do to with some interface to the tuner needing NDA so it can't be in open source code. There are other, more elegant ways to avoid this issue, but there really is no interest.

So there is no way to fix this in Enigma and you will get no answer from the manufacturers.
