I haven't understood it exactly yet, but it should go via the kernel modules and defconfig and must be activated there.
Then everyone can use the DVD player.

CONFIG_SCSI_SCAN_ASYNC isn't defined for any box, and (interestingly enough), CONFIG_CHR_DEV_SG is only defined in the defconfig of the VU+ Duo 4K...

Wel werken MP4, avi, iso enz. Echter het DVD menu Video_TS wordt niet herkend door PLI. De VTS bestanden wel. Echter met de ingebouwde mediaplayer van PLI kan men niet in de directory komen. Men moet dat doen met een file explorer ook standaard in PLI. Nadeel men moet alle VTS files opnieuw laden en de ondertitels missen. Standaard DVD optie is aan. M.i. gewoon een programmeer "foutje" in VTI werkt het wel namelijk.

Wel op een VU Duo 4K dus. Daar werkt het DVD menu prima op.

 

We zijn nu aan het zoeken waarom dat zo is, en hoe dat te fixen .

Check build in work-<enigma2-git and you get dvd-player build

 

Conversely, you can of course also add the modules from the outside.
But the build should generate the kernel modules with the addition

 

I don't know if this works for all versions of linux, but you can try it.

Depends on whether you have a real dvd drive the modules/ kernel changes are needed.

libdvd benötigt aber in jedem Fall die cdrom Module sonst passiert da nix.
Ob man nachher das cdrom/DVD Laufwerk wirklich benutzt ist dabei Nebensache.
So verstehe ich das.
Wenn ich das jetzt mit den aktivierten Sachen in der defconfig baue, dann zeigt mit enigma2 die Aktivierung des DVD-Player an.
Hab es jetzt für die xtrend 9x00 getestet.
Ich brauche also entweder die Kernel-Module cdrom wie bei der Viper als prerecommend oder die Aktivierung im Kernel. Dann kommt das vom Bau der Kernel-Module.

Oder verstehe ich ganz falsch?

In any case, libdvd needs the cdrom modules, otherwise nothing happens.
Whether you really use the cdrom / DVD drive afterwards is a minor matter.
That's how I understand it.
If I now build that with the activated things in defconfig, then enigma2 shows the activation of the DVD player.
I have now tested it for the xtrend 9x00.
So I either need the kernel modules cdrom as prerecommend, as with the Viper, or activation in the kernel. Then that comes from building the kernel modules.

Or am I completely wrong?

Aangezien het hier om ontwikkeling van een nieuwe PLI gaat! Dacht ik geef aan wat er verbeterd kan worden (meer niet). Maar als ik nu al verwezen wordt naar allerlei software , plugin etc. om een wens c.q. probleem op te lossen hoe ik graag PLI "9" zou willen hebben? Wat is dan het nut als tester. Sorry.

defconfig is fine with Box as with WanWizard.
We could still optimize a bit, but maybe someone else will get in test with solo4k?
