Am I the only one whit this problem. I'ts not working on my solo4K. Is there a plugin to help.

If i go into whit the file-explorer i can play every vob file . But nog automatic the video_ts

Try OK button or PLAY button to select the DVD folder in file explorer (Movielist)

For me one is opening the folder and showing the VOB files. (VOB files will be played by servicemp3)

The other one should open the DVD (handled by servicedvd), but for that the DVD folder should contain VIDEO_TS or VIDEO_TS.IFO (should be capitals!)

 

solo4K is BCM processor? That one should not have problem with libdreamdvd, libdvdnav an libdvdread.

On the H9, I can select the VIDEO_TS folder, and it plays.

 

Menu button opens the DVD menu, but I can't select anything, only the exit button works, which terminates playing.

 

There is no sound, only a bit of crackling every now and then.

This was a standard ( copy of a ) DVD, not a Blue Ray, or a rip or something. It has MPEG audio.

As far as I can see libdreamdvd (main.c) sends MPEG audio directly to adapter0/audio0 and for me this is working correctly for me for DVD folder with MPEG audio.

 

So I suspect libdreamdvd or driver issue (or both)

On a HiSilicon box? On a BCM box, this works fine.

Yes, DVD folder with MPEG also working for me on hisilicon box (zgemma h9combo).

Compared to XP 1000 (bcm) on which DVD folders work ok, for h9 I used another libdreamdvd and upgraded libdvdnav (6.1.1) and libdvdread (6.0.0)

Menus which did not work correctly before now do.

MPEG audio is send directly to adapter0/audio0 but maybe is not detected correctly on zgemma with older files. I did not test.

AC3 handling not working yet. Still under investigation.

 

b.t.w on my h9combo I do use the GStreamer based servicemp3 and not the Hisilicon stuff, but as DVD uses servicedvd I think it would not matter.

Don't you miss any formats then? Or the hardware acceleration from servicehisilicon?

So conclusion I'm the only one who has this problem. And also the only one with the problem on a solo4k. Given the members in this group, I hardly believe that. But there is no solution for an ordinary user. So a solution has to be found with a lot of puzzling, so that the development team can take this into account. As a development team, you test software, right? But thank you all. For this problem but back to another skil/software.

Yes, we do. But you have to support 104 different models at the moment, and we can't test everything on all of them.

 

Which is why we have testers. You've asked to be one, but clearly you don't have the skills to investigate what the problem is om your specific box?

With GStreamer I use dvbmediasink. Hisilicon accept some formats through adapter0/video0, but not all ioctl are known to work with optimal dvbmediasink for Hisilicon. (I guess they did not implement well)

However with Kodi19 almost all what I want can be played with the internal Videoplayer and the implemented gst-player (and ofcourse here also no Hisilicon player implemented)

 

The libdreamdvd I copied from Open Dream Multimedia github. I did not check the source code but this one seems to have better menu handling.

Probably something is actually missing in the servicehisilicon.
In principle it should work. Let's see if we can patch something there.

Or you can build Hisi with both (gst / ffmpeg)
It has nothing to do with mips / BCM.
It also works flawlessly with sh4.

As far I understand servicehisilicon was a replacement for servicemp3.

It may work flawlessly but I did not see advantage of it and do not use it.

 

For DVD servicedvd it needed. That one uses libdreamdvd which sends data to dvb/adapter/video & audio.

video seems no problem. However for audio only MPEG is handled correct by Hisilicon, while a bcm soc handles AC3,MPEG and LPCM ok. My old XP1000 has better performance for DVD than my h9combo

I guess he is starting MediaPlayer and not MovieSelection, the key for MovieSelection (depends of remote) is PVR, Filelist, on Vu it is like Teletext with R, so we still don´t know what is he using

I see a black screen : Whit a line 0x0i50 above the titel off the movie . The film is nog start what ever I do. Then i go ot start the start File Commander go to the movi on the harddisk and then it's posibel to play the 4 vob file's .
