I do not understand what you mean.
Why did it work a few days ago and why does it work with OpenAtv?
I immediately flashed the new box with OpenPli image.
What do I need to do to get it working?
Which files should I use to flash?

Are you mean that I must first flash the
openpli-develop-dual-20220211_multiboot
and then
openpli-develop-dual-20220211_usb

How did you flash? With the recovery image?

What image did you flash? From which date? Or perhaps one of the others broke something.

There haven't been any changes to our muliboot code in the last 3 months, and that change was to introduce booting Android from Enigma.

openpli-develop-dual-20220211_multiboot

This is the image you flash into a slot.,

openpli-develop-dual-20220211_usb

This is the image that wipes the entire box, repartitions flash, installs the recovery image, and flashes the openpli image into slot 1.

Ok I flashed openpli-develop-dual-20220211_usb.
After that I see ‘ Multiboot image selector’ menu.
From menu ‘Software update’ I see 2 packages to update:
openpli-bootlogo
partitions-by-name
After update this packages ‘ Multiboot image selector’ menu disappear!

That commit is provided by Qviart and is already present in the base image.  So if that code is the cause, it should also not be present after the intiial flash.

partitions-by-name
After update this packages ‘ Multiboot image selector’ menu disappear!

This is useful. I see

$ find . -name "partitions-by-name*.bb"
./meta-openpli/recipes-support/partitions-by-name/partitions-by-name_2.0.bb
./meta-qviart/recipes-bsp/partitions-by-name_1.3.bb

that we have a higher version, so that overrules the one Qviart supplies. The reason being that we use udev rules.

Could you do it again?

  • flash the image
  • capture the output of ls -l /dev/block/by-name
  • update the image and restart
  • capture the output of ls -l /dev/block/by-name

post both captures here

Thanks.

After the update the bootoptions entry is gone, which is needed to find the boot partition.

Now we have to do some digging to find the why. And why others don't seem to have this problem.

I flashed again openpli-develop-dual-20220216_usb.
Multiboot image selector’ menu is present.
From menu ‘Software update’ I see again 2 packages to update:
openpli-bootlogo
partitions-by-name
After update this packages ‘ Multiboot image selector’ menu disappear again.

Can you remove the ‘partitions-by-name’ from Software update?

No, then nothing works anymore.

The issue is that qviart added

if [ -e "/dev/block/by-name/flag" ]; then
    if [ ! -e /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions ]; then
      ln -sf /boot/ /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions
    fi
fi

to their version of partiions-by-name, which isn't present in our version (we can't use theirs as we use udev).

So we need to find a way to add this to our version.

If you do

ln -sf /boot/ /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions

on the commandline, and then restart Enigma, does the option reappear?

After this command
ln -sf /boot/ /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions

When I doe ‘Restart Enigma’ then option reappear
When I doe ‘ Restart’ then option disappear!

That recipe isn't used at all, we overrule partitions-by-name in meta-openpli/recipes-support because we use udev to create the dev nodes.

When I doe ‘Restart Enigma’ then option reappear
When I doe ‘ Restart’ then option disappear!

Thanks for confirming it.

Please add

if [ -e "/dev/block/by-name/flag" ]; then
    if [ ! -e /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions ]; then
      ln -sf /boot/ /dev/block/by-name/bootoptions
    fi
fi

to the end of /etc//udev/scripts/mmc-dev-mapping.sh and restart the box.

The fix should now be permanent.
