Not sure how EPG exactly works but is it possible to use the EPG plugin also for other cable providers then Ziggo?

 

I am gonna switch to an other provider (via glasfiber) which also offers dvb-c signal so i also can view/record the channels via my enigma2 box (vu+ ultimo 4k).

 

I did a test run to scan for channels and the box found them and i placed them in a separate bouqet, i noticed that the EPG is not shown for these channels, also not after a restart/import of the EPG data via the plugin.

 

My ziggo and sattelite channels do have EPG but my new (Trined) cable channels not.

 

When i select the channel then suddenly EPG data is present, but viewing the (vertical) EPG list then there is no EPG at first, only when TV channel s viewed there is data.

 

The number and kind of channels with Trined are almost identical to ziggo, currently i am converting my bouqets from ziggo to trined.

As soon as my subsription at ziggo has ended i switch my coax input from ziggo to trined (currently i manual switch it during testing/playing etc).

 

So the question is, should other cable providers also work on EPG, if not is there a way to get it to work?

From what you describes it should work with no problem.

But I think you have EIT EPG (and others still enabled).  That is the reason you sometimes EPG.  And switching to another channel, EPG disappears, and if you wait a bit it shows again.

 

The service refs for these Trined channels are probably different from the Ziggo channels.

In order to assign EPG to these channels, I need the service refs linked to the channel name.

The easiest way to provide them to me, is obtaining a m3u8 playlist from Webif.

 

Go in the Webif to the bouquet where you have all your Trined channels listed.  Press on the TV symbol before the bouquetname.

Save the playlist file (m3u8 file).  Send me this file pls.

I will add the service refs to the channels.xml file under the heading Trined (There is already a Ziggo heading)

I tried to do that but i have no TV button before the bouquetname what i can press.

I do have this for all the channels in the bouqet, but then i have to download all channels individually.

 

Not sure if there are several 'versions' of layouts of webif, but an overview of all bouquets i do not have, the bouqeuts are on top of the interface besides each other, when you click on them below are all channels shown which are in the bouqeut and these have indeed the icons and functions you descript...

 

I could send also the file (userbouquet.xxxxxxxxx.tv where all channels are listed in, is that ok also?

Here my file of the box itself, the provider is called: 'Trined' but the cable scan cameup with the name 'Kabeltex', dunno where that name came from.

The file contains all the channels which the cable scan came up with.

You can add the channelnames to this file.  But it is laborious.

I would glad to use the webif method, but i cannot find any button to download all channels in 1 file.

If you see the screenshot i have on top the boequet option but no download options, only beside the channels.

 

Is there an other way to get this list?

Scroll naar het gewenste bouquet.

Klik op het Hamburger symbool naast het bouquet.

I found a script what converts bouquets to m3u file, i attached the result of the script.

Is this file correct?

How and where exactly do i download this new channel file, i never had to dowload any file, so no idea where to find this...

EPGimport does this automatically.  But only once a day or after a reboot of the receiver.

That is why I say this.  If you already imported EPG this morning (automatically) the channels.xml is not downloaded again today.  And you post then, I do not see anything......

 

In this special case, the channel.xml file has been changed this morning, you better make sure EPGimport downloads it.

 

When the channels.xml file is not changed for channels of your interest, it does not really matter if you use the 3 or 4 days old file.

For future reference, if you request a channel change, and I post back - service ref added - then you know the channels file is updated with something within your interest. And you better make sure you download the channels file.

My daily auto import runs around 10:00, so not sure when you uploaded the file, but it could be it is allready updated then..

it looks OK, i do not use the provider fully yet, still connected to ziggo, i have to re-plug the coax each time to use trined/ziggo.

When trined setup in my vu+ is 100% (also the extra channels) i switch over to trined (ziggo ends next week).

 

But when i take a look i see all epg present by trined, so looks OK for now
