My brother has a VU+ Uno 4K SE box with a DVB-T/T2 Tuner.

He says that sometimes, some events don't appear, but they do appear on other boxes and on TVs.

I took the box, and I've been doings tests.

It's really strange....

I use only DVB-T EPG guide, no other one installed.

On both, Openpli develop image, updated 21-10

 

If I look at EPG on my ET10K, I get it correctly, as you can see on picture        epg_et10k.jpg   189.61KB   0 downloads

(You see seconds in EPG because I modified epglist file in components on my et10k)

 

 

But If I look at VU+ EPG, there are some events missing, arrow shows it.        epg_vu4k.jpg   188.28KB   3 downloads

 

I've tried deleting cache (init 4 , delete /hdd/epg.dat , init 3 ) , but it doesn't solve anything.

 

Does anybody know what is happening with that box ?

Is there anything I can do before telling him to send this box io the trash bin ??

 

Today (it's friday again) and it misses EPG from 20 to 22 approximately, like it happened last Friday.

 

It has to be a box-specific bug, because on a Xtrend 10K and on a OsMio 4k+, they show correctly.

I can’t imagine that this might be box specific.

My trashcan is much larger to put this nice box in. IMHO it would be a waste.

The epg date and time format is different on the 2 boxes, but I can't see how that could make any difference.

 

I can't say I've ever see 20 "programmes" an hour before, maybe some epg restriction is being pushed to the limit?

This EPG is from a music TV Station, showing Artist and Title in events

 

Where I can see that differnet format you say ?

 

TVs show it correctly, Xtrend and Osmio show it correctly, Videolan (VLC) using usb tuner on Win10 shows it correctly.....  the only box which misses some events is VU+Uno4kSE, running a clean develop updated image with no plugins except for Backupsuite

How do you „load“ the EPG, if you don’t use epgrefresh?

How long do you stay on the channel before opening the EPG?

1- EPG is received with DVB-T signal, as happens with all other terrestrial channels....

2- It doesn't matter how long.... i've even tried 30 minutes.....

Is it ok until a Friday? How does next Friday look at the moment?

This channel sends EPG for 2 days, on Thrusday I'll be able to see Friday.

Grab a copy of a working epg.dat from another box and put it on the vu, see if it works.

 

You'll need to stop enigma while you do it.

If it doesn't work, it suggests the epg is not being displayed correctly (although there's a chance the epg has already been messed up again - maybe disconnect the aerial during the test).

 

If it does work, it sounds like epg collection is not what it should be, but I've never seen any issues with VU/T2 terrestrial tuners.

 

Gaps do appear in the epg, but always clear if given enough time.

Did you scan the channel in both box or are you using the favourite from one box to the other one? I would advice to perform a channel scan in each box. Did you compare the full service reference between each box scan? But you should perform a fresh flash without any restore and so try with the default skin to exclude any third party / plugin issue.

More test done.

I've stopped enigma on ET10K.

I've got its epg.dat file.

I've stopped enigma on Vu+

I've replaced epg.dat file with the one taken from ET10K.

I've started enigma.....

..... and EPG doesn't miss anything !!!  It shows all events.

 

 

@Pr2 , when I first noticed some weeks ago, I made a fresh flash install, without any backup restore, and results were the same, events missing.

It's no skin problem, it's VU+ box that doesn't collect EPG right.

 

Channel has been scaned in both boxes, no favourites share, and of course Service Reference is the same on both boxes.

What happens if you move epg.dat from the VU+ to the ET10K, are they still missing? Sorry, I should have mentioned it before.
