Why is resolvconf or openresolv running? We don't install that.

opkg list-installed | grep resolv

Can you write to it on the commandline?

echo -e "nameserver 103.86.96.100\nnameserver 103.86.99.100" > /etc/resolv.conf

At least it is consistent.

so:

  • permissions on the file are ok
  • permissions on the parent directory are ok
  • you can read it
  • nothing can write it
  • no process is having the file open

I'm running out of ideas... :(

Network config goes into a different file, only the DNS IP address goes into this one.

Is it possible to delete the file, or rename it? And then reboot the box and check what the status is?

Indeed likely a ‘faulty’ backup hat is restored…

It was a clean install

Well,

fact remains that the contents of your resolv.conf wasn't added by us, and we don't install resolvconf by default, so if you haven't restored a backup after that, and didn't run an autoinstall, there is some magic going on here.

This should do it:

opkg remove resolvconf
opkg remove openresolv

If one is installed, this removes it.

Reboot after it, and see if it fixes it. If so, the next backup will update the autoinstall for you.

I have already manually removed it i think

root@gbquad4k:~# opkg remove resolvconf
No packages installed or removed.
root@gbquad4k:~# opkg remove resolvconf
No packages installed or removed.
root@gbquad4k:~#

Anyway thanks for trying to help.
