Hi everyone,

As usual I find myself with "strange" problems ....

Today I put the latest openpli 8.1 stable on sf8008 and after installing the channels (hotbird only) there were already all the picons .... where did they come from ??? are they standard on openpli ??? how can i get that folder back ???

Unfortunately (by mistake) between the "delete plugin" function I deleted "picons- hotbird 13e" ..... for a while the picons kept seeing each other (it seems to me) but then after some installation of plugins and various restarts, the picons are gone !!!! Tried to put a couple of them from the feeds but they are not seen (and the picon folder in the root is there) ..... obviously in the setup menu, the vision of the picons is activated ....

But for example I can't find the menu where to give alternative paths to the picons .... (from usb-hdd etc)

Thanks for your help

Ciao a tutti,

Picons should be in locations:

100x60 usr/share/enigma2/picon, media/usb/picon,media/hdd/picon

220x132 usr/hare/enigma2/XPicon, media/usb/XPicon,media/hdd/XPicon

the folder with the picons I have it in the root .... and not in usr / share / enigma2 ..... but I ask: can I give it another folder and another path from the gui ???

@ darog69,

I never heard of XPicon folder in OpenPLi image so I don't think that your answer applied to OpenPLi.

@Alessandro a

I guess you flash you SF8008 which an autobackup file already existing, so after the flash you get prompted to restore your autobackup and by default the answer is Yes (that's why you perhaps don't take care of it) so your former plugins are automatically resinstalled, and since Picon from Hotbird are part of them they are installed automatically.

So no OpenPLi doesn't include any picons by default but they include an autobackup / autorestore mechanism.

The standard location for picon is /usr/share/enigma2/picon  but they can also be located in /media/usb/picon or /media/hdd/picon our media/mmc/picon

There is structure by size in OpenPli you can place 220x132 picon size in one of this location and they will be displayed.

But you cannot mix up location, I mean all you picon must be in the same place and the folder should not exist elsewhere.

The picons feed installation is I think smart, this means that the picons are installed where there is the more free space.

So deleting the installed picons from the feed, delete them from there location so this is normal and since there are many picons this delete mechanism can take some time.

Hi.

Of course, you can do it. It is used as the "redirect" - by creating a symbolic link in the Linux Shell - this redirects the original directory to the new one you need to use. But... !!! beware !!! of some external disks that connect only after the Enigma2 boot... and thus during the boot, specifying a folder on a non-existent (not connected) external drive, may then fail.

The picons are usually installed as a complete package (you choose the required package, among the plugins and you install it in the form of a plugin, via the installation package manager, directly from the feed server of the specific Enigma2 distribution).

You can also use a plugin specifically for picons. I am the creator of one of these "picon plugins" - Chocholousek Picons: https://github.com/s...cholousekPicons

My plugin uses picons from @chocholousek . The plugin should also be included on the OpenPLi feed server if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure. It is definitely included in the OpenATV feed via freely distributable feed (which contains many universal plugins - for all Enigma2 distributions). The ChocholousekPicons plugin only supports European satellites, because there is always a lot of work with the picons (keeping them up to date).

in theory I solved;))
in a slot I have openpli8 and it takes the picons that are inside the external harddisk (... media / usb ...) and (apart from the deletion of the hotbird picons from the plugins) the problems probably came from the installation of filecommander because this did not recognize the files (only after rebooting the box and restarting the enigma2 was not enough)
... with mountmanager everything was ok ...
for filecommander the harddisk was almost empty !!!
i went into the fc menu, i didn't change anything and all the content appeared as it should !!!!! picon, movie, backup ... everything !!! mystery
Thanks again
