Is there a way that PLI 8.1 outputs an E-AC3 5.1 tone in 5.1?
My Gigablue 4K UHD can not do that, it outputs an E-AC3 5.1 signal in stereo as an PCM-Signal.
Other Images can this, but they have other, more serious disadvantages.
If there is a possibility that PLI can do this it would be great.

What is the source of the E-AC3 audtio? A broadcasted channel (if so, which?), some media file?
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I copied the files in this folder, but it makes no difference, E-AC3 ist still a PCM tone.

Yes, with this file it's the same problem like with the others.
It works on Teamblue 6.4 Image and on OpenNFR 6.4 image.

You haven't set AC3 downmix by any chance, or using some sort of external player that doesn't support it?

No, AC3 downmix is of course not activated.
The digital tone of normal AC3 files und DTS files were correct given out.
If I boot one of the other installed Images it works, with OpenPLI not.

Have you tried tne OpenPLi Nightly Build, to make sure it isn't something that is already adressed?

I don't have time the coming weeks to test with a Quad 4K, and I can't reproduce it on my boxes, so I have to pass this on to someone else.
