The least is that usually multimedia boxes runs android and have amlogic chipset.

I know Mutant has spend a long time trying to make drivers to get Enigma to work on an amlogic chipset, due to lack of alternatives at the moment. And afaik they failed and gave up.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I can't (and won't) comment on the skills of Mutants engineers... ;)

Thanks for the quick answer WanWizard!

OK, do you know if anyone has managed to play eg Dolby True HD or similar using this box? With passthrough that is, only get stereo pcm now.

Same file works fine (passthrough, soudbar detects audio format etc) played using shield and other boxes in identical connection. So, something strange at least.

You can try the following:

On a stream or channel with AC3+ initially you'll not have any sound. Press the audio button on RC and then select Downmix. Sound will appear, then press the Red button to revert to Passthrough again, and shortly the real AC3+ sound will appear. This is how it works on Ultimo 4K at least. Soundbar is detecting Dolby Atmos etc.

I have tested this on Vu+ Duo 4k SE and OpenPLi 9 and it working as described. Very nice. AC3+ sound playback never worked before without this trick. Any chance to get this working directly without this workaround?

Smells like a driver bug, in which case the chance on a fix are remote.
