Hi,

 

I have a Gigablue IP 4K box, and want to connect the decoder to my LG TV and use the Magic Remote.

In the setup wizard on the TV you must select a brand (Gigablue), but it's not in the list. (there are +/- 60 manufacturers in the list)

Now the wizard can't finish the setup.

 

Does anybody knows witch brand (manufactur) I can use instead of Gigablue, so the Magic Remote will work full ?

The chance that an OpenPLi user has a GB box + a LG magic remote might be smaller then when you ask this specific question on the LG board.

There is an alternative technique which could be a direct solution to your issue.
Anyway it solved all my remote control needs in this case.

After canceling the setup in the TV menu, and using HDMI-CEC, the functions that are working on the Magic Remote are: Power on/off, OK button, up, down, left, right, back and menu.

(after programming functions in hotkeys also the colored buttons)
For now it's fine, but the number keys 0 - 9, volume + and -, page up/down, EPG, scroll wheel, mute, info and some more are not working or select-able for programming a hotkey.
Also the LG Voice Mate Control (voice recognition) is not working.

 

I tried some other brands, but none is working full.

To bad that choose an other brand is not the solution.

Hartelijk dank voor het verzenden van uw bericht.

In Nederland bijvoorbeeld is het wel degelijk mogelijk om bepaalde digitale ontvangers met de Magic Remote te bedienen.
Lang niet alle externe toestellen kunnen met zo'n Magic Remote bestuurd worden.

Er zijn immers honderden fabrikanten op de markt en het is dan ook heel lastig om de compatibiliteit met alle toestellen te garanderen.
Wij willen u verder erop attenderen dat u wel degelijk de LG Magic Remote kunt koppelen aan uw decoder, immers kunnen wij de compatibiliteit van onze eigen producten wel garanderen.

Wat uw vraag met betrekking tot volledige functionaliteit willen wij u verzoeken om deze vraag bij de fabrikant neer te leggen, deze functie is immers gerelateerd aan het gebruik van de decoder zelf.
De LG tv fungeert louter als beeldscherm om het binnenkomende signaal te verwerken en vervolgens te tonen.
Uw decoder dient adequaat op de commando's te reageren, die met de bijbehorende afstandsbediening worden uitgevoerd.

Hierin zijn alle functies opgenomen en is er een stappenplan dat gevolgd moet worden om een bepaalde handeling uit te voeren, zoals het koppelen van externe apparatuur etc.

U krijgt tevens een tour langs alle beschikbare instellingen op uw tv-toestel.

Another approach:

IR control of Gigablue device is possible with LG magic remote control.

In LG menu go to Verbinding select apparaataansluiting. Select Decoder/OTT.

Here are all kind of brands. Do not select one of these. Fill in Gigablue in the Window box area up there.

Select this will work.

Point the magic rc to gb box.
