I've enabled an attempt at a simplified test of the uclan in py3.

next build py3 uclan builds with activetaed servicehisilicon.

When will the next uclan build py3 build with servicehisilicon enabled?
So I immediately test!

Wait for the next build.

Currently the last download is 12.04.22 at Uclan py3 (experimental)

So you can try everything that comes after that and give feedback.
It's all about media handling.
So you don't need to test the image completely.
Save your settings separately beforehand or simply use a free multiboot slot for the test.
Capacity will determine when the next new build will be launched.
This is the best way to test whether it is really worth offering this change.

Perfect thanks! I had tried 12.04.22 on Uclan py3 (experimental) it didn't work.
I use a multiboot slot for testing only.  :thumbs-up:

Excellent

I've started a new build.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Unfortunately I cannot test the openpli-develop-openpli-python3-ustym4kpro-20220414_multiboot.zip because the remote control does not work, it is blocked in the language selection.....

Ok, then there is no point in using servicehisi.
Then the internal used libs are the problem (closed source)

I saw that the "hisilicon" folder in usr / lib with the codecs inside is missing. Can I add the folder myself?

No, it's not that easy.
For the time being, use the develop or 8.1 image again.
It is possible that new drivers will come.

Feedback regarding the image from the OE Alliance would be helpful about media handling

Ok, then let's wait, let's hope they resolve it soon

You may try the OA Alliance firmware to see if it is working in there.

Could you test the current build py3 again to see if it plays media files?

I just tried the openpli-python3-ustym4kpro-20220418_multiboot.zip WORKS PERFECTLY. GOOD GOOD GOOD, thanks.

Have you updated "ServiceMP3"?
When will it be implemented in the stable version? All media files work !!!!

I noticed that some media files despite having the same characteristics (audio and video codecs) do not work....

Codecs can have many different settings. And it's not just codecs, there is also the container format, which also can have many different settings. There are thousands of possible combinations. Frankly, I'm amazed that OpenPLi plays nearly everything I throw at it.

If it can't/won't be fixed in OpenPLi (a STB is not a media player), I sometimes have success remuxing to a different container format. Remuxing doesn't re-encode the audio/video streams, it just puts them into a different container, and is therefore quite fast, and without quality loss.

Sorry to inform you this member, my brother, passed away.

I see! I know that an STB is not a multimedia player, it all started from the fact that on Zgemma H9.2HSE (with OpenPli) all multimedia files work while on uClan Ustym 4K they don't work.
Now uClan Ustym 4K with openpli-python3-ustym4kpro-20220418 many multimedia files work some don't work, but on H9.2HSE all multimedia files work.

Thanks to the work done by rantanplan
