hello,
octagon sf8008 with openpli image for a long time, it happens to me for some time that it suddenly freezes without a green crash image, I have to switch off from the back button and switch on again, I use oscam.

Can't say I have that problem.
Do you get the spinner when that happens? Does audio/video continue and does the box not respond to the remote, or is everything frozen
Does the box have a mount to another network device (nfs, cifs)? That might cause the box to freeze if that device is no longer responsive.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi @berem .
How experienced are you in the IT field ? Could you connect to your set-top box via the PuTTY application and run the debug mode in the set-top box ?
It would be convenient to see what happens at the moment of freezing - through the console. During this freeze or even after it has already "frozen" there, whether the Enigma2 process continues to work or whether the entire connection to the set-top box is frozen (hardware error of the chipset or maybe some drivers).
It would be useful to see what happened during the freeze in the console (or at least see the entries in the debug log, from that time).
The following "commands" in linux-shell, after a terminal connection to the set-top box (SSH or Telnet protocol), starts debugging to std-out (visible at the terminal - i.e. in PuTTY app) and to a file at the same time:
init 4; sleep 5; killall -9 enigma2; ENIGMA_DEBUG_LVL=4 enigma2 | tee /home/root/e2debug.log

FYI: "sleep 5" might not be enough if you have lots of EPG to save to slow storage. On my box it takes 25 seconds to save the EPG to a USB stick...

@wanwizard
everything frozen
Frozen means what exactly ?
I already wrote once that you have to describe the problem exactly. It would be ideal if you could also make some debug-log output.
No offense, but someone can imagine the term "frozen" as a dewy and icy set-top box that you just took out of the freezer.
It would be better with debug-log. But unfortunately you have to have some minor knowledge in the IT field to be able to connect with the PuTTY application (or any other good terminal app) to your set-top box. Then you will find out what is actually "frozen". That way you can better monitor what theoretically could have happened in your case. Does the connection to OpenWebif at least work in the state of "freezing" (try connecting via a web browser on a PC or smartphone) ?
Btw, there is also a way to run debug-log, in the Enigma2 graphical interface - with the help of the RCU, in front of the TV. You activate debugging, then reboot the set-top box. And the debug file in the set-top box will start to be saved automatically. Then, at the next reboot, you will find the debug files in the appropriate folder. So you then connect via FTP connection to the set-top box, pull out the debug file and upload it here, to the discussion. However, I don't know OpenPLi very well, so I don't know exactly where in the GUI the debug mode must to be activated. I also don't know exactly where the debug files are stored (probably in the "/home/root" folder).

"Restart Enigma in debug mode", option in the Standby/Restart menu.
It will create a debuglog file in /home/root, which you can access via FTP or CIFS. Note that the file is created in flash, and can grow large quickly, so don't leave this running for too long, and make sure you delete the file(s) afterwards.
